Need Help Finding CF parts

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a CF hood for my 08 base. Also was wondering if the rear deck spoiler comes in CF, too? I'm kind of new to this and not familiar with all the sites out there, yet. I'd appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction

Thanks

E

I know eBay has a bunch of carbon fiber hoods, not sure of the quality though. and a few other sites have them, just do a google search and some should pop up, here's one.

how many lbs. are you really shedding?

i've been wondering the same thing as the OP.
But how much weight are you saving off the hood, trunk, etc. by switching to CF?

My CF hood is not the best and its only 1 sided cf and I would say its less than 1/2 the weight of the stock hood. I didn't weigh either when I had them off, but the weight savings was pretty significant. I'd say the same as switching to a light weight battery from the stock

thanks lembowski

less then 1/2 does sound pretty significant. Was there any modification that needed to be done or did it fit perfectly?

They also make a carbon fiber interior trim kit. One of the easiest places I've found for that is www.nycdashes.com. If you're interested, I've got a kit in my Type S and really like it. I can post pictures if you're interested.

I wouldnt mind checking out the pics. Actually, I was never a fan of CF interiors, but I may hav ea change of heart

I'm surprised they dont make a CF deck lid spoiler. It would look awesome matching it with the CF plate background

CBRYDR,

I would be happy to show you my Carbon Fiber interior. Please understand that this will start a ration of crap from fellow AcuraZine members. It's a love-hate thing with these Carbon Fiber interiors. I do not have the Carbon Fiber "B" pillars for the exterior, but I did see them on Ebay. Here's the pics...and by the way guys, please no outrageous negative comments. I've been there-done that already with these pictures. We got into such a pissing match about these pics last time, I asked the Moderator to close the thread. That's how bad it got. And I don't want to do that to CBRYDR's thread request.

Thank you....

Steven

steve, where did you get your kit from? Did it match the factory carbon pliber? Also to the OP, you can get a CF hood from VIS, a CF battery from braille, and contact KB1SPEC (that's his username) and he might be able to get some custom work done for you

That looks pretty clean, Steve. I think it's just a bit too much CF for me

I have to give it to you though. It is a clean job. Thanks for posting!

Thanks CBRYDR....yea, for many-it's just too much. But after a while, I honestly don't notice it at all. You just get used to it and it blends in with the rest of the car. I don't know if that help you or makes a difference, but now I see it as a classy upgrade.

csmeance-I actually got my kit thru a fellow A-Ziner, sensualscorpion15. The match was alittle off from the OEM Carbon Fiber pieces. Actually, that's why I got this kit-I wasn't satisfied with the OEM pieces because you couldn't tell the contrast between the weave. But this kit, you can definitely see the difference in the carbon fiber weave. I really like it much better that what is made by Acura.

amk-

Yes, It can be removed. I've had to do it a couple of times to some pieces that needed alittle extra stick-em, and there was no adverse affect on existing parts. The pieces were not hard to remove. If you they are thin pieces that you are removing, you have to be carefull not to stretch them as you remove them from the car.
