Im going to get a 2008 tl but I like the type s taillights. The Acura is base. Not type s. now I went into the Acura dealership to ask about order a set. Price was high. But that wasn't the problem that arises. The guy told me that the 07 an 08 lights are slightly different. I'd have to do modding to get them to fit. Is this true?? Because I looked on eBay for a set an they said the tails (the ones being sold) fit 04-08 is this true? I'm no good with cutting or even brave enough to do it outta fear of messing up an costing myself more money to fix my error. An not to fond of making a pointless purchase. I need them to fit.

It there anyway I can't take the bumper off an just switch out the taillights? Thank you

 

who ever working at that Acura dealer is a dumb a$$ he should get a new job lol, yes tail light for all 04-08 TL are the same regarding base or Type S. You MUST take the rear bumper out in order to gain access to two bolts locate under neath the tail light unit that holding your tail light in place and one bolt on top. Let me see if I can get you DIY instruction. brb

all of the tails for 04-08 are interchangable.

you have to remove the bumper to swap out the lights.

the mechanic might have been confused since base and Type-S use two differnt bulb codes... the fitmets are the same but hte wiring is different

nothing you need to worry about if changing out the lights.. just trying to figure out why the mechanic said such a thing
