need some more info about your 'position'

what do you owe if anything on the S?
what's your budget?
how many miles on the M3 and 335i?
do you have a family?
do you need the space?
is it your daily driver?

some more info would be helpful.

If I had a choice, I'd get the M3 with the V8 as long as it was CPO. However if a newer 335i that was CPO with less mileage came around, I'd get that and get it retuned...

Get the 335 TT and upgrade the computer, you'll be a happy camper. Just keep money in the bank as the tires aren't cheap.

2006 M3 is sure sweet.

For less money with 80% of the fun 2006 330Ci with ZHP package.

Or wait a bit a catch an early 135 off of 2-year lease. I know a BMW tuner who swears that the 135 is a better performance bargain than an E46 BMW.

Does your TL-S have a manual ?

I would NOT get the 06 M3. Rides like a rock and needs to be red-lined for speed like a Civic Si. I have driven both so I know.

The 335i coupe would be awesome, but you BETTER get a great warranty with it. Believe me I know.

A $700 chip on the 335i will make it a ROCKET.

Have you considered the 135i ? I have driven the 135i twice and WOW it hauls @$$.

mine is automatic..i want to go back to manual..i've driven manual cars my whole life..

found an 06 M3 with 25000 miles , loaded, for 31000..
found an 05 335 loaded with 18000 miles for 33000..
i thought M3 was better than 335...so i don't know what to do

The 06 M3 has a very high revving engine, you have to rev the shit out of it to get performance, its like a Civic Si engine. The TT on the 3 liter 335i, 135i has 100% of torque at 1400 rpm. The 06 M3 also rides like a brick. Its a track racer.

If you want a fun fast and comfortable BMW get a 335i or 135i with a manual, even though the 6 speed auto is just as fast. I was VERY close to buying a new 335i coupe with a few options, or a mostly loaded 135i.

After putting the AEM V2 intake and the ATLP quads on my 06 manual TL, I am satisfied with its power. The Tein SS coilovers with the progress RSB and sticky 19" Yoko S-Drive tires makes my car handle better then ANY OTHER FWD car I have driven.

Last week I kept up with a 535i which is not slow, same 300hp/300tq TT engine as the 335i, 135i. I know the 535i is heavier, but its still very quick.

If you dont have the cash for a new M3 and its between an e46 m3 or a 335i coupe than I say get the 335 because with only a few grand in mods it will walk the e46's. I've seen my boys 335i with the procede v2 keep up with new m3 v8's.
