NBP or SSM ASPEC?
Hi Everyone. I just purchased a 6mt 05 SSM Aspec TL. Picking it up next Saturday but I'm thinking of changing the color and getting the NBP instead. What do you guys think? Need some help ASAP? Thanks.

I've had two black cars, and there is probably nothing prettier than a nice clean and shiny black car (all fifteen minutes of it!!), but it sure does take a whole lotta work....!
Living in NJ will be a challenge (especially this time of year) to keep NBP clean. I have SSM and love the color. Always looks pretty good (even in this crappy weather we've had this winter).
What interior color are you getting? When I got my TL, I was deciding between NBP and SSM. I liked the SSM exterior, but didn't like the Quartz or Ebony interiors. I love the Parchment interior so I went with NBP. When it's clean, nothing looks better than NBP. Think about the interior too cause that's what you'll see the most. If the Quartz was lighter, I probably would've gotten SSM instead of NBP.

i love black cars and my last car was black. i almost got the NBP as well but i liked the way the TL looked in SSM and went for that instead. like most have said it's easier to keep tje SSM looking clean. after a year of ownership i can still go either way on the color. i just figured a silver car would be a nice change for me.
Go with SSM. I have DGP, and every time I see a SSM TL pass-by, I regret my decision. For some reason, the TL looks better in lighter colors. Light and shadows can play havoc with the car's curves/grooves, and make it look strikingly different in different colors. Personally, I now think the car looks best in SSM/WDP, especially the rear side.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Here is why you DO NOT GET THE SSM!!!

Take a good look at these shots of my SSM A-spec TL ... notice how the 'spec kit doesn't match the SSM of the OEM paint in any corner...

Ya, the black looks AWESOME, but I want to see whether it stays that way for several weeks/months/years down the road...i just personally feel that when you buy a car, you want it to look good for as long as it can without getting a car wash every other week...in order to keep the black looking hot, you would have to spend a LOT OF $$$$ on car washes...the black takes a lottttttttt of maintenance...
whereas, the SSM (or even the desert mist TL) requires less maintenance...but in the end, it's all subjective, but Pele96, you should go with your first choice...
PeterUbers, I am not sure why the colors don't match on your car...on my SSM, they match VERY WELL...
Both colors are great choices. In fact, I was thinking the same when I bought my TL a couple months ago. I went to the dealer with intent on buying the SSM but instantly fell in love with the NBP. Having owned a black car many years ago, I knew what I was getting into... but you just can't beat the look of a clean black TL, and with parchment interior it looks even more righteous.
Best wishes on your decision. Either way, you will have made a good choice.

I want to thank everyone for your input. I have made my decision. I have decided on the NBP. I just called the dealer and they still had one in stock. 6mt. I should have it by next Saturday. By the way I'm trading in my 03 tls for the 05 aspec 6mt tl. Can't wait. Thanks everyone and be careful outhere in that BLIZZARD.
