Question Navi Markers

Is there a way to mark a place in the navigation (with an Icon or something).

Say for instance you want to see an Icon on your map for your work, or home, or whatever.

I do not think so. I'd searched this feature in the Nav manual and could not find it. You can set your personal addresses but they cannot be displayed as POI on you map, I guess. Can only be used for setting the destination.

This is somewhat odd. I know the G35 Nav has this feature. I would like to have it. The G35 also has the 3D view. I wonder if it might be a software feature that could be turned on later?

I would mind having G35-like overlook so-called 3D Navi. If Acura cannot give me other better systems, I prefer keeping my current 04TL system.

Try this... HDD Navigation!!!

See the navi manual, page 42. Say "Save Current Location" . The location is then saved in the Previous Desitnation list.

Thanks for your info, however it's not marked on the Map though. The original question is "if you can mark the address on the map".

You are correct, but this appears to be as close as it gets.

Groo21 seemed to ask the way to display those locations on Navi for him.

"Reocrd/save the current position" is only storing it into your previous info or address books. It won't be able to "see an Icon on your map for your work, or home, or whatever."

Right. My friend has a G35 which displays a "house" or "building" type icon over places that you've saved that you want an icon for.

I kinda liked the feature and was curious if it was hidden away somewhere in the vast Navi menus.

One thing I noticed was this, when I drove through a newly constructed area (no roads on the navi), the navigation system automatically placed little dots of trail through where I drove. Everytime I return back to the region and I look at the map on my navi, the trail of dots remains. I wonder if there's a feature to link the dots and "create" a road there.

Those are called "breadcrumbs." It is a selectable feature. When selected, the dots appear once you have been driving offroad for half a mile or more so that you can retrace your steps back to system known roads. It's in the navi manual under setup.

FYI, to get rid of the breadcrumbs, you have to go into the set up screen and turn off the feature (offroad), and then turn it back on. Otherwise, they stay there forever.

Re: Breadcrumbs...

Right... that's the way to do it...

I have to clean it weekly because my Navi always displays my 04TL running over the lakes when driving through some particular neighborhoods.

Perhaps, because I'm parking my car in the basement...
