Nav Adder on Lease
I’ve been shopping for a good deal on a new TL lease for a couple of days now.
Here is the best offer I got so far (by contacting internet managers from 6 different dealerships in my area):
12K / year, 42 month lease with $2000 total out of pocket
w/ Navigation:
selling price 32958.67
montly 433.98 plus tax
w/o Navigation
selling price 30958.67
monthly 397.18 plus tax
from Palm Beach Acura.
I’d like to hear how much others are paying for their leased cars.

I should be working on my deal this Saturday. I have a pretty good contact that has sold me my last 4 Acuras (Integra, RSX, CLS, TSX) and it will be interesting to see if you can meet the above.
What's included in the $2K quote? My last few leases have been only 1st month's payment and that's it (waived security deposit, no cap reduction, etc.)

A good rule of thumb regarding options is to figure about $20 per month extra for every $1000. If you would want to add the nav option to your TL lease it should cost about $40 per month more than the non-nav version.
For comparison - My "purchase" was $5K down and payments are $516/month for 60 months. At the end of a 48 month lease period, I will have approximatly $16,000 in equity. A hundred more a month Plus a little up front can provide a decent asset at the end of the term. And I can drive it 30K/year if I wanted or needed to and the resale value won't more much at all (afterall, it IS a Honda). Do NOT lease a car unless you can write it off as a business expense.

True......if you have the luxury of a $5k nut right up front.

with purchase price lets say 33K(Navi?) (with 5K down) to get $516 monthly payment you should get:
1. 0% intrest
AND
2. Have 4% sales tax.
Now, in "My State" - 8.625% sales tax and 5% financing would get you (with 5K down) $616 month.
So, in "My State" if I purchase it your way, after 4 years I am out of:
Down = 5,000
Paym=29,568 (616*48)
___________
Total= 34,568 (or AVG$8,642 per year)
If I lease (in my case 2,700 down+ $430pm )
Down = 2,700
Paym=20,640 (430*48)
___________
Total=23,340 (or AVG $5,835 per year)
Total difference is about $11-12K- seem IMHO what you could expect from selling 4-5 year old TL.
Oh, and you will probably have to do some pre-sale $$$ preparation.
And IF one would pay it all in full in 60 month it will cost $7,392 (616*12) more
- grand total about $42K in 5 years (or AVG$8,400 per year). To get to my lease number (AVG$5,835 per year)
I have to sell it at some point for REALLY good price or drive it for more then 7 years.
Oh and BTW - you mention it right - that one could benefit from lease even more if "selfemployed".
It is personal descision- for me Lease is better.

If you don't have anything to put down.... Get a JOB!
