My Wost Fear

HAIL!

You can't see it in the picture too well but trust me, it's there. Pea-size daggers from the skies. Sun is shining and it's downpouring ice.

i've had my car for about 3 weeks now and we've had 3 hail-producing storms with some tornados come through here in that time. it hailed at my apartment complex 2 or 3 days after i got the car, but i got lucky because i had my car at school in the parking garage.

I've got an emergency plan for where i am, If i spot hail i mapped out the closest car ports to park my car under haha.

Also have a thick canvas to throw on top of my other car that isn't insured right now -.-

Either way yeah hail sucks! Glad to see it only stayed pea-sized.

typically, pea-sized hail wont cause damage. nickle sized and up is usually a different story.

I am in NE Philly and I watched that storm just miss to the south. Earlier this spring we got hit with a nasty storm with pea sized hail. I was driving in it and all traffic on I95 stopped. Luckily my car didn't get messed up.

Yeah, I'm just north of you, and my car came out fine with no new dents. Half dollar sized hail and 100+ mph wind gusts, pretty intense and scary.

Scares me too! I've never had hail damage but I have had acorn damage from the many oak trees in my yard (on a beater, my TL is in my garage).

Pea size won't inflict an ounce of damage. When you get into 3/4"+ hail, then it's time to start worrying. I live in Kansas City where hail is common place. We typically see 5 to 10 hail storms a year, usually with 1/2"+ hail, many times with 1" to 2" in localized areas. We had storms two days ago that brought 3" to some areas. Get hit with hail that big and birds start dropping out of the sky and your car windows will look like they were hit with multiple shotgun blasts.

i know how ya feel... i live in tornado alley and we get all kinds of hail. Saving up some money for a carport. But for now i got to rely on thick blankets and a car cover for now. So far it's been working good, the only bad thing is you gotta check the forecast everyday.

although, when it was hailing here, the sun was out...storm on one side, beautiful on the other...
