i was driving to wal mart when this white 02accord with black spray painted rims pulls up to me ..i think nothing of it well he takes off and spins lol (lame) so i floor it all he heard was the roar of my intake and the sphony of my exhaust as i pass him by i race him from 0 mph up to 100mph and owned him with him having the jump lol i always wondered how well the v6 accord would do up against a tl

 

There is a big difference in torque between the two plus you have the 5AT vs the Accords 4AT. The 99 TL is a better race for the 6th gen AV6. Your car runs mid 15's vs the accords low 16's. Also the 98-00 accords are faster than the 01-02 AV6 due to the ULEV emmissions change. My dads 98 AV6 blew my old 01 AV6 out of the water. He was .5 second faster than me when we raced down the 1/4 mile and had 3MPH on me! I also had I/E and he has K&N filter with mufflers!!

 

i dont know much about the older accords but i know the 2002 V6 accords only had 225 hp where as ur TL if its a type S was 260 im not to sure..but i know i have a 7th gen AV6 and i raced my sister 2004 TL and i beat her everytime by either a full car or half a car length..and raced other TL's as well and i always fair well against them but i have wanted to race the 2003 TL type S but never found one willing to run it..lol but good kill none the less

lol a TL-P is just the name that acura gave the car. It is just the non type s version of the TL. I thought though it wasn't called the TL-P until the TL-S came out in 2002-2003. I could be wrong though!

 

You would smoke him by about 6-7 car lengths through the 1/4 mile!

 

So he thinks he got 70 hp from an intake/exhaust? He sounds like a tool. You should just punch him in the head instead of racing him.

 

the 99 runs mid 15's as well.

mine was pretty consistant with 5 runs between 15.5 and 15.6 on a warm night (80).

that extra gear doesnt have much effect on the 1/4 mile in the auto's

the Type S on the other hand is a 14 second car and there is a very noticable difference when they run.

 

Nice! I didn't realize the 99 ran mid 15's as well. I know the best stock time I have seen for a 00-03 Base TL is 15.3 or so. So the extra gear probobly won't play a roll until the 3rd gear where the ratio is much shorter than in the 4AT.

lol hmm can i take a 03TypeS i think a modded one like mine with I/E will be a very good and close run for me ive raced my sisters 2004 Acura TL and i beat her by either a half a car or sometimes a full car length i think it would be a really good run..hey im down to sleep at a crib ill sleep on the couch but i kinda like to cuddle..hahah j/k. and me loose never that..try me..lol

I think it would be a great drivers race. I beat one that was stock when I just had intake by about a car length.
