My WDP 03TLS vs. Friend's NBP 06 RSX-S

I have a 2003 TL type S which is all stock (didnt have the time to modify anything yet lol), and my homeboy has a 2006 RSX type S. I was wondering how i would do against the RSX. He's been talking smack for awhile now but we never got a chance to hit it off. Oh yeah his is stock too, but only with lowered springs. I'm thinking that because his is standard and lighter he'll jump ahead of me at start out but after 3rd gear ill pull him with the quickness. How do you guys think my TL-S would go against the RSX?

my take on it is that he will get the jump at first but you'll inch up on him and eventually take him by a car length or 2.... depending on where you cut it off at... just look at the stats... 3.2 L 260 hp... vs 2.0 L? or 2.4? i forget... with what like 205 hp?? you should most definitely win in the end

Will be really close, but he will take you out if he's a good driver. No VSA, and if you launch good you will take him out.

Go to the track with him and find out. Then PM me the results, because as a former RSX Type-S owner and now on a 3G TL, I'm super curious. I think you'll smoke him, my TL has gobs of torque compared to my old RSX.

I'm sorry bro. I have the same car as you, but if he's a skilled driver he should take you.

Just lie to him and tell him its stock but add I/H/P and whoop on him.

from my expirience off the line its a drivers race. learn to launch ur car and u'll win. on a roll its a whole different story, u'll easily win by atleast 1-2 cars.

The RSX is his first standard car so i'm guessing he's not that much skilled, but i don't know he might have learned to drive it good. I read somewhere that when take off step on it half way for half a second or so then floor it and you'll have a better take off. You bet i'ma take my VSA off.

He's a soon-to-be mechanic and i'm pretty sure he would know if i modded the car or not and plus we're really close friends so cheating him wouldn't do me any good. And it's all just a competition, but on the other hand, he's talking shit so i might just do that.

headers will give you a solid gain and a noticeable difference in power.

30mph is the best for roll cause u'll be in 2nd gear and as soon as u punch it it'll drop it into 1st in VTEC. u'll leave him in the dust i gurantee it. just make sure u have it under 32mph or it will not downshift into 1st, u'll stay in 2nd and he'll get a better jump.

remember 1/4 or less gas, remove spare and jack, and remove unessary things that may weigh you down (amps, subs). remember to turn off the VSA.

BTW, since it is an 06, i think it may still not be able to hit vtec since is starts like after the 2nd oil-change. (thats what my service advisor said when my TL didn't hit VTEC at 5000 miles)

i read somewhere to have 1/4 or less on the tank and remove spare tire but i don't think that will help out much. he's not taking out anything either and he might has even more gas in the tank than i do, lol. he drives his car going back and forth from school so he's put some miles on that car. i think @15k now.

I have both 04 RSX-S ( i know 06 is tad more faster) and a tl-s too. From the feel of driving both cars, I can say that from a rolling start, if you follow S1ck TypeS's directions, you'll get teh lead. But in the top end, I dunno about everyone else but if you have ever demoed or driven a RSX, their top end is actullay impressive. From what I felt, up in the triple digits, they accelerate a lot more harder than the tl-s. THis is coming from an 04 so the 06 should be decently quicker. NOw im not saying it is, it just felt a lot more faster. Also once the RSX hits vtec...from my perspective, it pulls the cars a lot stronger than our cars.

But, you get the advantage because your WDP!

o MAN, I have noticed that the V-tec in the rsx-s hit's like no other vtec'd cars out there.... this was from my cuzzins 06 RSX-S....... it's a beast once it hits that VTEC...

i think the tec pulls the car harder in the RSX-S due to it being lighter and it being DOHC because our cars are heavy and SOHC and the Si's and GSR's when they hit the tec they haul ass lol so im guessin the difference would be they have DOHC and we have SOHC which i think was pretty stupid of acura to do because if we had DOHC it would be a wrap

oh and i notice that when the DOHC civics and tegs hit vtec its waaayyyyy louder then when out SOHC TL hits vtec

thats all my opinion im not 100% sure if its right but im guessing that thats wat it is

Yea it could be because its a lot lighter than our cars. Ur right also about the loudness of vtec in the RSX..it is ridiculously loud..part of me wish that the TL could've had it that loud haha.
