Thumbs up My thoughts after 2 weeks.

Well, first of all, let me state that I LOVE this car. It's the best car that you can get in the price range by far.

Things I would like to see improve over the next few years.

1. The navigation system should allow you to speak out the addresses you are looking for. (Touch screen is great, but adding voice would be better.)

2. The touch screen on the NAVI and the MID should compliment one another. You should be able to access the MID functions from the touch-screen (programming phone numbers, etc.) and you should be able to access the touch screen functions from the MID (how about putting the turn-by-turn directions on the MID).

3. The Navi joystick (in the middle below the screen) should light up at night like the volume/tune buttons do.

4. The Navi system should be able to sync using bluetooth PIM sync, so that address book & contacts can be pulled in from 3rd party applications.

Now having said that; I consider that these are improvements on an already great product.

WRT the current teathing problems, such as door locks or tires, I suggest that they just hurry up and fix them. It's a shame that they detract from such a great car.

Again, I want to make clear that I love my car, and even if Acura turned around and said "absolutely not" to my requests above, I would still buy the car.

Those are interesting suggestions. I think speaking out the address would be wonderful from our standpoint as consumers, but from the programmer's standpoint is too cumbersome and would require a voice recognition system capable of learning your voice. It's possible as it's done for dictation programs, but likely expensive. When I need directions to an address, I just type in prior to leaving or pull over. I agree, as I've said before, that the trip computer information should be in the navi.

If only Acura were listening......?

I didn't explain that very well.
I meant to be able to spell out the letters (A, B, C, D, etc.) instead of having to type them in on the touchscreen.

I work with some speech recognition applications and neuronbob is right when he says that it would be difficult to implement. This is not so much for the voice but more for the words that need to be recognized. All the possible words a person can speak for an address need to be stored so that when the system hears someone speak it, it can search to find a match.

Now speaking letters on the other hand is entirely possible since the set of letters and characters one can speak is relatively finite, it should not be a problem to program A-Z, 0-9, "," -comma, "." period, "-" - dash, maybe *, #, & (for names of places or restaurants), etc

That would be a nice addition...

No insult here but the main difference between this board and BMW boards is that BMW guys disucuss how their cars drive whereas here the discussions are mostly about Navi, BT, DVD-A and so on.

.......if only their cars were available with these options .......and don't even get me started on their Navi system which is a total piece of sh*t!!......you're better off saving that money, for all the repairs that you'll have to spend on, once the warranty expires

FYI, I heard that BMW has given up on trying to improve their Navi and are just going to use Honda's Navigation system instead! :wow:

FWIW, I think the ride is "average".
It's not to hard, not too soft.
The front wheel drive is noticable, but I've gotten used to it.
The seats are comfortable; not the best, but not the worst.
The cockpit is well organized, but a couple of buttons are hidden from view.
I love the center console stuff.
My car is solid, reliable (so far) and doesn't rattle.

About the only stuff for me to comment on is the center console stuff; everyting else just works.

I could have bought many other cars, but I bought this one because it was the price/performance/comfort/technology that I was looking for.

Do you mean that 04 TL has Honda made Navi? Mine 02 TLS had one made by Alpine.
