Hey guys I finally picked up my 2006 TL today! I'm sure some of you read my previous posts about the not-so-pleasant experience at a local Acura dealership in Ottawa, but it looks like that was really a blessing in disguise as instead of a used 2004 TL I got a brand new left over 2006.

Its anthracite with the black/silver interior, automatic transmission and no navi (already have the Garmin C530). I think I got a pretty good deal (about 8 grand of MSRP).

Anyways check out the pictures and let me know what you think! I know its dirty already but in this weather what can you do

congrats on your ride. I picked up a Royal Blue Pearl 2006 TL with Navi in Nov.

I got about $5000 off MSRP.

I called 10 dealerships in Toronto for a left over White Diamond Pearl 2006 TL with Navi but none had any left over. =(

Hey yeah initially I was going for wdp also, but they only had one of those and one of the anthracites but the white sold the afternoon that I came in to make the deal. Oh well this color is gradually starting to grow on me and it seems easier to keep clean than white!

 

Yeah I totally forgot to bring a CD with me so the dealer gave me this DVD-A sample disc from one of the TL's in the showroom. I was listening to this song by Seal and wow I'm impressed

Seal on a demo disk....hmm. They must have updated the disk since there is no Seal on my demo disk. Is this an Acura disk, or one whipped up by the dealership ?

Yep its an Acura disk. It may be the disc for the new 07's though as the rep. just pulled one out of a 07 TL on the showroom floor

 

After spending some time driving and testing out the features a couple questions have come up...Hopefully you guys can answer these

- whenever I change gears (automatic transmission) I hear this clicking noise which kind of reminds me of the noise made in manual cars...is this due to the manumatic gearbox or possibly due to the car being new?
- when you hit the trunk button on the fob does your trunk pop up all the way to the open position? mine just opens a very little and I have to pull it up...just asking b/c on my other car it opens fully
- is there a way to transfer a phone book from a cell phone to the car thru bluetooth or do I have to manually say each number to the car

i haven't experienced a clicking noise when shifting in my '04 AT...

and yes, the truck only opens a lil bit...you have to do the rest...

as far as i know, there's no way to transfer a phone book from a cell phone to the car...

I really think the A-spec or Rondog kits set the car off. They really look plain without the underbody kits. Just check the pics out in the photo section if you haven't already.

Oh yeah, I was one of the people that chimed in on your earlier attempts at buying a TL. That being patient (and a little fortunate) thing worked out huh? Glad you are happy and like others said...WELCOME!

It ended up being around 42k (Cdn) with everything. Only the licensing was extra!

 

Yep I guess everything does happen for a reason. I'm definitely looking at either the RJ or the A-spec skirts. I would have got it done at the dealership when negotiating the deal, but they mentioned about 6 grand (with the aspec suspension/wheels etc) and I believe 2 grand for just the aero kit.

Hopefully a group buy starts up soon!
