i had the same problem as you have now...

u have to glue that part between gap...

u can use quick-drying glue....

but u need to be patient..cuz it's gonna take long time...

even if you go to acura dealer, they have no idea how to fix it...

So, exactly which glue did you use, and if it is quick drying, why did it take a long time? :-)

My dealer fixed mine three weeks ago and it is falling down again. Car is in now for tires and headliner. I hope they know what to do this time.

It sounds like you are putting the epoxy on and holding the headliner up against the channel until the eopxy dries, which I guess is what you mean by needing to be patient.

All you need to do is separate the top piece of velcro from the bottom one, stick the epoxy on it, stick it to the metal channel, wait until it is firmly set, and then stick the two pieces of velcro together. Maybe a piece of tape across to help hold it in place until it dries.

It doesn't seem as if there is any problem with the bottom piece, so this shoud do it.

Good one...

I'm thinking of how to fix this by my krazy glue since two days ago. Maybe I'll try to glue directly on velcro first. If not working, I may take it apart as Ron A has suggested. How hard to seperate it?

Based on my experiences, I believe I could care this issue better than my dealer. If going to the dealership now, my stupid dealer would say this is NEW to them, then my car would be the first lab rat in their shop again.

BTW, ravi, thanks for the shots.

Acrua needs to fix that under warranty. I mean how difficult can that be for someone who is trained on the car to figure out a way to secure what should be secure from the start. :banghead:

Too many issues are never expected, and those tech are never able to be trained for all of the issues.

For example, even some of dealers still insist 04TL should change engine oil every 3 months or 3k miles. They may try to ignore what Acura/the service manual has told them, or may try to earn more $$$ out of your pockets. Whatever reasons are, IMO, most of dealers just have no idea how to fix problems in the beginning.

rets-it is easy to separate. It is just velcro stuck to velcro. It is stuck together pretty good but a little side to side motion (not much room in there to do much else) will get it off.

If you can fix it yourself, why take a chance on them screwing it up again, and having to leave the car, etc. If Acura came out with a new piece with really good glue on it, that would be the easy way, but I don't see that happening for a while, if ever.

Headliner Falling: Is there a dealer fix yet?

Car is in again for the same problem, headliner falling. This is the 4th time and this situation is getting very old. They keep telling me that they have a new adhesive but it never works. Is anyone aware of a "permanent fix"?

One thing I've learned from all this is that if my TL develops this problem, I'm going for Ron A's epoxy solution right off the bat and not even bothering to let the dealer try to fix it.

2 cm sounds too big. Mine, which does not appear to be drooping, has a gap of a couple of mm.

Which Glue to Use on Headliner???

Car is in the shop for the 4th time with no end in sight. Is there anyone aware of the best glue to use to get this fixed once and for all? Evidently the dealer doesn't know how to do this simple repair.
