My experience W/Roadside Assistance and the Service Department
Went out to play golf this morning and my car didn't seem to crank as vigorously as normal. But it was 5am and I was barely awake. Played 18 and when I got back to the car the battery was almost completely dead. It cranked slowly about 3 times and then just started clicking. So I had to call RSA for the first time.
The girl that answered the phone was very pleasant and took all my information. We even joked when she asked what color the car was and I asked her if she wanted the real color or the whacky Acura designation. When I told her it was Anthracite, she said that was the only color she actually knew
She explained that she would call a few local towing places to find who could promise the best time and informed me that I would get an automated call with the expected time. About 5 minutes later the automated call came through with an expected time of 1 hour.
After the callback I phoned the Acura dealer to see if they could get me in to look at the battery today (Saturday) without an appointment. They told me to just bring it over and they'd take care of it. 10 minutes later the guy from the towing company called me to tell me he was pulling into the lot and asked me where I was. Total time from when I hung up with RSA till he arrived was less than 20 minutes.
Drove over to the dealer and they agreed to check out the car. Less than 1 hour later I had a new battery and was driving out of there. Total time from click-click-click to driving home was about an hour and half.
I know everybody likes to post about their bad experiences. But I just wanted to post a good one. for both Acura RSA and McGrath Acura in Morton Grove, IL.
And the real shock of the whole experience, I didn't get any pressure from the service writer to give them high ratings on any surveys. My Nissan dealer would drive me crazy begging for high marks, regardless of the piss poor service they provided.

All About Trance
Every time I had to call them, the people on the other end has always been really pleasant. The estimated time they give would always get beaten by the contractors they use.
