My eBay spoiler experience

So I randomly get on eBay and search for spoilers and other things for my car. I knew I wanted an OEM spoiler and not one of the random little eBay lips that just tape on. After buying a trunk tray for $30 from user jfkfdr, I figured I'd see what else he had for sale. And what I found was this spoiler:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/370584315512...r#ht_668wt_905

It seemed like a good deal and a good spoiler, so I bought it. It was $60, plus $30 for shipping, so $90 total. The spoiler (as well as the trunk tray) arrived at my door about 3 days after ordering them. Since the spoiler was painted the gold color, I went to the local paint shop and had them mix me up a half pint of Carbon Bronze Pearl. That ran me $16. We already had clear coat, thinner, etc. at the shop. I then marked the holes on the trunk lid and drilled them. I threw it on there before painting it because I was so anxious to see how it would look, haha.

Since it was already painted, there was no need to prime it, so I scuffed it and let my dad (the painter) paint it for me.

Spoiler before paint:

Spoiler after base coat:

Spoiler after clear coat:

After letting it dry for a couple of hours I sat it out in the hot sun to really let it bake dry before putting it on:

Mounted it, and voila!

Not bad for about $106 total. I am soooo happy with my eBay spoiler. And I highly recommend buying from jfkfdr. He has great products at a great price and ships fast, too.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share my experience. Hopefully this will help some of you with your eBay spoiler dilemmas.

I did search... Painted from thespoilerstore was $81.00. Shipping is an additional $25, and they don't have my color, so I would have had to pay $40 extra for them to paint it CBP. That would come to $146. Unpainted is $55. So after shipping and painting it myself still would have been $96. But like I said, I was looking for a spoiler that was actually made by Honda, not an aftermarket one.

Did you really have to quote the pictures just to say this?

It confuses me when you refer it as an "ebay spoiler" when it's an OEM one just repainted lol
"OEM spoiler from ebay" would be better.

Looks great!

Can't go wrong with an OEM one!

Hey fly Romeo which seller did you buy from?? There are alot on there for 30 bucks but really skeptical buying a 30 spoiler but if someone on here has bought one and paint matched good and all that then I'm less hesitant. I tried buying from spoiler store but they are out of NBP but tried to charge me 40 extra to have them paint it instead of getting it already painted I just want a damn lip spoiler and ain't paying 485 from dealer

So, that is the Type-S spoiler, right? Would you be willing to do another in CBP?
