Talking my 2006 on the line

I found out yesterday afternoon that my 2006 auto/navi is on the assembly line and should deliver the first few days of October! YYYIIIIPPPEEE

As soon as I get it, I'll post any surprises that I find, though I don't expect to find much.

Anyone else expecting delivery soon?

Price

I am paying $1000 over invoice for the 2006. But that came with buying a few other cars at the same time... We also got a 2005 MDX, and a 2005 TL (my father bought this one for my sister). So should be in the neighborhood of $33780 for the '06.

Phoenix, but you know what.. I'll fly to SFO just to eat at Henry's Hunan. If I can get an Acura TL for a sliver above invoice Plus I think its like a 750 or so mile drive back, I could swing by Vegas and pick up an oil change

I have one on order right now, they said i can cancel any time between now and 3 days after they've installed dealer options. But the guy i've been working with says he'll beat any price. Problem is I need to find a price! Estimated build date is Oct 25 and delivery is Nov 12.

I'm sure if we can get enough people we can get a good deal all around. If you're not too concerned with the updates on the '06, then the best deal you can get is going to be on the '05. As a package though, if we can get a few people and approach a dealer, i'm sure they'd be willing to work with us.

I have no problems going out to SD to pick a car up either, thats fairly close to me.

Hmmm....SD prices are too high and there aren't a lot of dealerships. LA county seems to have lower/better prices. I'm just worried they won't have the color combo I want in the leftover '05s.

I dont mind getting an 05 either but if 06's are not much more than the 05 then why not get a newer year and perhaps all the problems/rattles are fixed with the 06. Thats how I see it. And I dont think they are discounting the 05s that much anyway unlike the RL where you can get close to $4k below invoice. It seems like 05 Tls are selling around only invoice these days. I am pretty sure we can get an 06 close to invoice price if we get enough buyers since I rendomly emailed a dealer and came back with $1500 less MSRP without any negotiating.

That's what I was thinking wasabe918. I'm leaning more towards buying an '06 model if the MSRP is only a couple hundred more than the '05s. I'd like to see what people are paying for the '06s first too.

I've emailed a few dealerships and they mentioned that the amount of '05 TLs with navi are getting limited so the price had to go up.

My price agreement was 33,474 plus 468.50 prep (rip off fee) plus 6.50 Florida waste fee (tire and battery fee) for a grand total of 33,949.00 plus whatever the price increase was going to be from 05 to 06. Remember I signed this contract at the end of July so the price increase was unknown, now we know it is 225.00. I think I did alright.

I emailed a few dealers and they seem desperate to move their 05s. I havent negotiate on the price and they offering me invoice already. but i dont know how willing are they with 06s through when it first comes out. but i would think i can get it $500-$1000 over invoice since nothing much changed for the 06 and less hp on paper relative to our competitors. But if I am wrong i can always go back to an 05.

Sgtflaco, your grand total includes tax and title, and with navi?

In May I had two price quotes for a 5AT w/Navi.

32,800 and 33,300

I need to revisit the first guy to see if he can get like pricing on '06 (was a broker type). I have a deposit with the 2nd guy who's on fleet sales at a dealership. They only needed $1000 for the deposit and said I could get it back up to 72 hours after they install options. Figured i might as well get in line, but I'm betting some of the dealers in town might get some in the next couple weeks so i'm keeping my eyes open.

Hey Spool, I have responded to your other thread but just want to make sure you get the message. I am in Flag, AZ also in the market for a 06 TL 6MT BLUE/BLACK NAVI. So guys from the SW lets see if we can get a good deal.

SW Deal

I purchased my Acura's in the southwest region in Albuquerque at Montano Acura. The salesman is a no frills guy named Doug Strong. One of the nice things here compared to other places that I looked is that the sales tax is better here than in some surrounding states: 3% sales tax, $65 tag.

I probably could have gotten them lower than $1000 over invoice on the '06 TL, but they gave me a really fair deal on my 2002 4-Runer trade for the MDX.

He called me today to let me know my car is currenlty en route. Today it passed through Kansas City. Should have it for sure by Monday, Oct 10.

Can anyone verify the ipod thing won't be available till December as a dealer install?
