MT shift-knob removal?

I did a search, and there is a link to a PDF, but it's a dead link. I located the one for auto.

Can anyone point me to how to remove the 6MT knob?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried twisting it? I thought it was just screwed on?

There is a nut below the shift knob. So you need to get a wrench and turn both at the same time.

That silver ring is a nut? Dang. I can't even pull the leather boot down.

I wish someone had real dox on this. I don't want to break anything.

Unscrew the knob. Then, hold the shift knob, and give the shift boot a quarter turn. There are hangers on the bottom of the stock shift knob which hold the shift boot up. When/if you ever change your shift knob to an aftermarket one, the shift boot will hang down, unless you take apart the console, go underneath the shifter, and apply zip-ties to the shifter, underneath the boot. The finished product will look like this (Maven Mark One Shift Knob):

Cool deal. Thanks for the write-up.

I tried to unscrew the knob, but noticed that the entire leather boot was twisting with it. I was afraid it was attached.

Will give it another go..

I just tried this on my shift knob and just to clarify... you can pull down on the silver ring as there are 2 soft clips that are on the factory MT shift knob that it hooks to. After that you can just unscrew the shift knob. There are no tools required to do this.
