Question Mpg

Hi, i am new to this forum (this place is great, found lots of new things about the TL, moving the coin holder being a great one), and I just got my new TL last thursday. I am just wondering how many miles do you guys get out of a full tank. Thanks.

I'm averaging 23 mpg the furthest I have gone is 300 miles before filling. I still had 5 gallons to go.

Im getting really low MPG, around 15-20, the highest i got on the highway is about 24-25. It has about 370miles on it, so i am still in break in period. I guess it would help if i actually drove the car how its supposed to be driven during the break in period.... Its just my last car was a Mitsubishi Galant '96 so I had to try out the power in this car, BIG difference form my last car hehe Its just sometimes i say to my self "let me just push it to the max just one more time"... Thanks for the info guys.

336 - 348 miles for a full tank (14 gal) about 24 miles/gal. I commute 30 miles one on highway and little bit city driving.

Initially at break-in I was getting low 20's.

Now at about 5000 miles I'm getting mid-20's.

* These numbers are average driving city and highway.

The answers you see may be varied by areas and driving condition.

In the traffice I'm, I got 14-19 daily driving, 200-250 per tank while Low Fuel Warning light is ON.

In a highway trip I drove, I got 400+ couple of times.

I have been between 300 and 400 with 21 to 25 MPG.

The most interesting thing for me is EVERY tank that I have added had 9 hours to 9 1/4 hours of driving. Very close for all of them.

I have been averaging about 26mpg in mixed driving. I fill up at 300 almost everytime. I would get better mpg if I could back off the hard accelerations!

I live near San Antonio and bought my TL in Dallas. I drove it home the first day and filled it up upon arrival. I averaged over 60 mph and got about 29-30 mpg on the trip (almost all highway).

I just installed a K&N air filter. For my trip to work my average MPG increased from 26MPG to 30MPG. If I am really light on the petal, I can get it up to 31 or 32 on flat stretches. I am never below 29PMG now, even if I'm hotfooting it out of tool plazas on the NJ Turnpike.

How does you dad get 32 MPG?? Isn't the last model rated 19/28 or something like that?? How is that possible w/o using the higher grade gas that makes the engine run more efficiently?

I have gone just under 400 miles on a tank, but I'm a gambling man and drive way beyond the Miles Til Empty meter has run to 0. My highest MPG average was 25, and I push my car a lot. Just installed a CAI, interested to see the effects it has.

I get 24-28MPG in mixed driving (20%city80%hwy), depending on how hard I beat on it.

I just did my first fill up, I averaged 24 mpg and had about 325 miles on that tank of gas. Oddly, I only put 13.5 gallons in the car so I had about 3.5 gallons left.
