MP3 and/or AC seats, when?

DVDa is nice, but I'd like to listen to MP3 discs from time to time.

Also, I'd like my arse ventilated during summers.

Thoughts?

the tsx has mp3 player option,i guess when trying to create a target audience the typical TL owner wasn't regarded as someone that would want mp3 capability. A/C seats are fairly new and i have seen it as an option on higher end cars. so the first acura vehicle to get it will probably be the RL and then it will trickle down to its other lineups as it becomes more standard.

How they leave out MP3 or an auxillary input but add a cassette player is beyond me. Who uses cassettes anymore anyway?

Also the fact that mp3 functionality costs money on the tsx is absurd. The fact that mp3 functionality is left off any cd player made today is absurd.

The added cost of mp3 software to manufacturer of stereo: $0.
Yes, thats right. Theres no additional hardware to put in there, and any additional software needed to decode the mp3 format takes up very little space in memory and has already been written (most likely by the company for other products or if not they can just copy it from freely available source code).

i think acura was anticipating that the average TL customer would be older and have alot of cassette tapes they would like to play.

I love PC's, I love my ipod too. Dropped it down the stairs, run with it, gotten it wet, hasnt broken down on me yet. Plus, it would make it a hell of a lot easier then Using MP3 cds. Nice spelling, fcuk you too. We need a pole set up. Who here would like to see ipod integration??

lemme hook up my ipod

my 62 gigs on my computer, and 40 in my ipod, are better than any radio, xm, cassette availability. and why do mp3s when you can see on the iPod (and should be Nav) screen what song, musician, genre and playlist you are playing?

acura, give me my Ipod hook up!

I personally have no use for MP3, but use tapes fairly often. On trips, books on tape are great, but there are more books on CDs coming out all the time, so eventually cassette tapes will join 8-track tapes in obscurity.

In Canada the RL has a cooling feature as well as heat.

In canada? We need it more down here in the USA. Especially in new england. 105 in the summer, -20 in the winter.

I had heated and cooled seats in my Saab. Very comfy regardless of the season, and the cooling especially on very humid days.

I didn't say I liked the idea. I see the appeal to be great here in the US just as it would be to our northern friends.

I guess the bean counters figured it was acceptable to exclude that from the US. However I'd be will to guess it'll make it state side during a model refresh.
