Payments suck any way you look at it, but if you have equity in a home, you can take out a Home Equity Line Of Credit (HLOC) and buy the car on that...then the interest you pay on your credit line can be written off on your taxes at the end of the year.

Lease: $7,000 down; 42mo = $350/mo. Buyout at end: $15k and change...

I did this because my work car allowance is $350, so I wanted to stay at that number.

My car was $31,500. I put $2000 down and my payments are $675 a month. I did the ballon payment because I had traded my 2005 Honda Accord. My interest rate was about 10% because of my not so great credit.

I'm paying $644 p/month for 72 months w/ 6.9% interest (lowest Honda would go at the time, which is a shame because my 04 Accord had a 3.9% <<sigh>> ). My payment is that much because my 04 Accord that I traded in on the TL was even-up to the good; and I couldn't get the dealer to play with the figures any more than I did for the trade-in. I ended up with a $1000 to the good, and financed the entire amount through Honda.

Some folks couldn't fathom the thought of such a payment (because it just may be near what they pay on their monthly mortgage); but it doesn't bother me. I'm grateful for the job I have... that's for sure!

Purchased 11/27/04

05 TL 6MT Navi. purchased new.

Lending tree offered 4.27% @ 60 months, but American Honda gave me 4.09% @ 60 so I went with them instead.

$6000 down. 60 months @ 4.09% = $577.40/month. Dealer only knocked a little over a grand off the price but that was the best deal I could find at the time. Others wanted to charge sticker (for unsold '04's as well!).

I feel you on that one!
I bought mine in November 2005; an 05 w/ navi and thought that I could swing a better deal with the 05 since they had 06's on the lot. Nope. They also still wanted to charge sticker price for the 05 and wouldn't budge on the price. It was what it was. :surrender

I traded my 05 Saab 9-2X Aero for my 05 TL. Only got back $1400 from the trade since I owed money on the Saab. I used that as my down payment and financed 32K of the total price. My payments are about 610 a month for 60 months at 5.5% .

yeah really, my dad told me that it still wasn't a good deal because he had gotten a brand new 04 RL for like $35,000 earlier that year!

He said that he kept telling them he wasn't happy with the price they were offering, and he left the dealership, they kept calling him over the next few weeks and he still wouldn't budge, then finally one night they actually brought the car to his house unexpectedly. He wrote them a check for $35000 and they took it.

My '04 TL is $352 a month at 3.29% and my wife's '05 Tl is $185 a month at 4.29%.

Decide not to pay cash. At those rates, better to invest my money.. which I've done.

I got a pre owned 2004 TL with 10k miles with navi for 26k, after taxes and registration it was 28k

so payments are $400 month, 5.7% for 60 months with 8k down and financed 20k.
