Momo Shift Knob Installed! Pics!

here are some pics of my MOMO F16 Evo shift Knob installed. Along w/ some pics of estelle w/ her beautiful 15% tint. Sorry if my pics suck im no photographer, and I know estelle is dirty. Ill give her a shower after all this terrible weather is over. Also the shift lever is long and looked fine w/ the stock knob but its a bit too long w/ the MOMO in my opinion. Do u guys think its a good idea to file or buzz off about an inch off the metal lever. the only problem is I will have to buy a new lever if I decide to make it back to stock to sell the car etc. Btw, I paid $107 for the knob if anybody wants to know. I know, its pricey but beauty isnt cheap.

You've got a pretty firm grip on your knob.

In Florida the legal limit is 35% on the driver and front passenger side . Police officers however rarely enforce this stupid law.
I currently have 15% on my TL and had 5% on my 4-Runner (traded in for TL) for 5yrs with no problems.

MOMO f-16 EVO shift knob

Hmmmm, I contacted MOMO about the wood variation of this knob and they
stated it was for manual cars and that it wouldn't fit an AUTO shifter.

Was the installation difficult?

Not at all. the only hard part was getting the 3 allen screws in the threads all the perfect angle/time. Took about 3 tries and about 15 min. But in the end it worked. Its kinda tricky but you will get the hang of it after 15 min. btw any momo shift knobs will work. Get the knob @ LTBmotorsports.com , theyre great. Even w/ the hurricane on their side, they got the package to me a day earlier than I expected!

PS: That Momo shift knob looks great with the TL's carbon fiber interior. It matches wonderfully! How much did it cost?

I agree. It looks nice. if only I could buzz off about an inch of metal off the shift lever it would look PERFECT. thats probably what I am going to do. btw I got it from LTBMotorsport.com, I bought it from their auction online but later found out its a couple bucks cheaper on their online store. No biggie. btw sometimes on ebay Ive seen them go for around $70. its just that this other guy and I desperately wanted this knob and outbid each other constantly. Looks like the better man won the auction lol jk

Nice knob. IMO, would be better with the 6MT, but nice regardless.

That might be one of the funniest observations I read lately .... I didn't even notice. I was looking at his hand on it and the floating design.

nice pics! not sure if you used it but there's usually a macro feature on your digital camera. it allows you to take pictures close up and they won't appear all out of focus and blurry. just got myself a canon sd110... it's incredibly small and great for beginners/amatuer photographers =)

That is a nice match with the cf (or fake cf, whatever). Yes it would be better in MT as MT is always considered more sporty, but you can't win em all! That is a big forearm, are you a hog or a skilled? I played RB and OLB in high school and ran a 4.6, before I tore many tendons and ligaments nearly breaking my ankle after junior season. You know the best player ever from OK right? Barry Sanders of course. Enough of that though. As far as window tint goes, I have 5% and got pulled over on the way to work Wednesday by a state trooper. As I was pulled over several people were speeding by at 10-15 over, guess window tint is a bigger concern. $60 ticket, damn 5-0!

I guess manual shifter will fit on TL Auto since there is no release lock lever. Just a guess.

Here are two Carbon style MOMO shifters available from LTBMotorsport.

Prices are reasonable . . .

Where do you live??? I was going to work one morning driving a little under the speed limit and got pulled over. Cop said he just wanted to check my tint. Well 3 tickets later I got to drive away!!!
1. Tint to far down on windshield
2. Tint to dark on side windows
3. No tint sticker in door jamb showing it was legal darkness.

Eggroll -- how did you get the original knob OFF? Does it unscrew?

I had the same height problem with a Momo knob on my S4. I gave up and replaced with the factory one...

you screw it off like a bottle cap. Its hard to get off at first but it gets easier and easier as you turn past the 1st thread.

Eggroll is that titanium? I'm trying to find the same Carbon with Polished or Powdered Aluminium and could not find one. However that look close to alum. What is the product code and where did you buy it from?

Hey Eggroll, fellow Oklahoman with Anthracite TL here. First, how is your 15% tint at night? Does it get hard too see out the back window when it is dark outside?

As far as your tint, where did you get it done? How much was it? Is it ceramic or metallic?

The only place I can find in OKC to get ceramic tint(I have NAVI) is Formula One Tint.

Thanks,
-Brandon

Nice pics.....question:

The metal on the knob looks a bit champagne/beige in flavor as opposed to the silver/aluminum finish on the grill/interior.

Is that just the camera playing tricks, or does the metal on the knob not match the silver/aluminum trim on the TL?

BJ
