Moleskin required with window tint?

I searched the forum and found that some people use moleskin on their doors when they tint their TL. This is the first I have ever heard of doing such and I have had 4 cars with tinted glass in them. Is there something specific about the TL that requires this? Or what is the deal?

What makes the TL so bad about this? I have an MDX right now with no moleskin and it doesn't scratch the tint. I have had a TransAm, Jeep GC, and a Vette and none of them scratched the tint up......

Is it easy to see the moleskin after it has been installed? In other words, if I have a tint shop install the moleskin when they do the tint, can I easily check to be sure they did indeed install the moleskin?

Do a search and you'll find numerous threads regarding moleskin and scratched tints..... Most shops will charge you about $25 to install the moleskin or you can do it yourself. There's a thread showing how to remove the panels and where to attach the moleskin to if you're a DIY type of person....
