Mobil One Extended Performance...

I was just wondering how many people use it over the standard one. So far I've been using Mobil 1 5W-20 synthetic for couple of years but seeing its only a little bit cheaper then the extended performance i think i wanna switch and change at the same milage. I bought 5qt of oil and mobil one extended performance filter for 34.99 plus tax at advance auto parts. Was thinking about Redline 5w-20 but it would come out to double as much and its inconvenient to get so i didnt go for it.

How many miles do you change it now?

I sometimes get EP if it's on sale at Walmart but I still change it at the same interval of 5-6k. So I rarely use it.

It's a full synthetic unlike regular Mobil One despite what the advertising says.

M1EP > M1

Most sales for 5qts + filter for 29.99 allow you to buy either.. buy the EP.

I change it according to the mid, its usually around 4 and some but never over 5000. Most of the time i drive normally but i have my moments

I do plan on keeping the car for a long time and i think i should be fine with mobil one ep.

Since i dont get to drive her much and dont really put that many miles on her, according to the mid the interval is once i year.

Maybe i should do it every six months...

Finding the 5w-20 EP could be an issue, maybe it's a regional thing but where I live you can never find it. It doesn't come in 5 quart jugs either if I remember right, quart bottles only.

You're better off with a 5w-30 especially in your climate.

5w-30 is better at any mileage especially as it gets up there in mileage. I've run a 5w-30, or 10w-30 since the car was brand new. The 30wt will give you better protection whether it's new or has a million miles.

I am the same way. Both school and work are both very close to where I live so I do a yearly oil change. Last year I only put on about 5000 miles and the mid was at 40%.
