The million dollar headlight

So there are three things that my new upgrade headlights comprise of:
1. Angel eyes (by Umnitza)
2. Switchback LEDS for turn signals
3. 6000K Kaixen HID bulbs

But before I go about flaunting them, I would like to thank rockyfeller, for working so diligen--no, assiduously and meticulously on my headlights for making my angel eyes, switchback leds, and installation of the kaixen bulbs possible. The 14+ hours of tedious labor really makes you appreciate the final product when finished. Thanks to your wife as well, for making me feel like a family member. Again, thanks a bunch bro, good luck on your insanely beautiful car mods.

Call me bimmer jockin' but you can't say that these don't look hot. "To each his own." The angel eyes are not the dull yellow striated rings like the new beamers have. It is bright crystal white with smidgen of blue. They are very very bright; the pictures say the same thing. It kind of has a cool effect, since it reflects off the HID projector; you can see a second ring behind the angel eye. In the night time, these are so bright that they look like actual headlights.

The switchbacks are EXTREMELY bright and even brighten up my blacked out housing. The blinking yellow is a PERFECT match with the yellow sidemarker (although I would like to get that whitened as well). You can see in the video how bright it gets with only the angel eyes turn on with the switchbacks. Rockyfeller programmed the angel eyes so they turn on with the parking lights (Stage I when key inserted).

The Kaixen 6000K bulb upgrades are a beauty. Doesn't make me want to look back at the stock 4300K or 8000K. They are very very bright and white with a hint of blue. They provide ENOUGH light output and look fantastic.

I posted a YouTube video in the end for the switchback leds w/o hazard lights, w/ hazard lights, turn signals, w/ headlights on and off. I will try and take some DAY day shots when it isn't dark at all so you can see the angel eyes clearly without so much illumination. Enjoy!

First off, it was a lot of work, as you can see....

Rockyfeller drilled a hole through the plastic right above the projector ring to slip the bezel wiring through.

After all is said and done, this is how it turned out.

are the middle smaller circles the reflection of the angel eyes?
did you have to modify the opening to fit the switchback signals?

also does the amber color matches the side markers?

Yes, the smaller circles are the reflection of the angel eyes, looks kind of like a zombie or something. As mentioned, the switchback LEDs are HUGE and I had to enlarge the opening for the turn signals. We used a soldering iron to make that hole bigger. The amber is a perfect match to my surprise.

Both mods look amazing! Great job. I love the look of the "blueish" turn signals, but it still uses yellow so ya won't get pulled over. =P

From a former bimmer owner, you got the daylight demon eyes correct?

Angel eyes are the dull reflector type that Bimmers have, as opposed dde using ccfl which are much brighter and better looking. I'm just being an ass on terminology, but overall very nice job.

Kudos. This is the best attempt at angel eyes I've seen on this forum.

Ahhh so you put up the thread already man??? NICE!!

I usually don't like to brag but hey I have to say it came out freakin BEAUTIFUL for sure. Yep 16 freakin hrs of labor.....I told you guys, I'm a perfectionist. Pictures show you, it was all worth it!!!! Who gots skillz???

Guys, I posted this offer in the Black Market for these mods awhile back and Brian jumped on it immediately. I'm definitely not offering mods like that again....As you can see my car is also in 1000 pieces for my crazy mods and I am in over my head with work. I already had my cleared lights with switchbacks. Just put angel-eyes on today just like Brian's car. It'll take me a couple more weeks to get my car fully done and I'll post some pics later.

I'm so happy that you're happy with it Brian. I told you it would come out ridiculous. Let the jaws drop!

Yup these are Umnitza CCFL DDEs (former bimmer owner too, so I'm familiar with Umnitza too. )

The lights stay white when the parking light is on and blink amber when the signals or hazzard switch is used. Totally trick! Best part? It's legal and safe.

The lights are not blue they are white. They have a slight bluish 6000kish hue to them so the camera kinda amplifies it. It really is not that blue in person.

The angel-eyes are more of a 4300kish whitish hue so there is a slight mismatch in terms of color. Again, the camera is exaggerating this.

Ok, you've inspired me. This time unlike in my bmw i'm not going to overcook the headlight and turn the clear enclosure milky white (which is what happens when u leave it in too long).

Can you give a link to where you got the led bulb? I just ordered my angel eyes. I'm going to start calling junkyards for the bmw projector tomorrow.

This was a 2 day mod so it was a challenge to do it in 1 day....I was exhausted by the end. 16hrs. in total. You could do it in half the time if you are really quick.

What much was the angel eyes? I looked at their site but they had ones that fit the tsx, not the TL. Are their other parts I need?

They have them on ebay from an umnitza dealer. They sell for like $140.

Thanks rockyfeller. When I did the ones for my bmw it took one evening but that was rushing it, and I ruined my headlight enclosure. I'll be taking my time on this one.

Why is the wiring so secretive with this mod? I did some searches on the TSX forum and it's all "pm THEN i'll show you" type of thing.

I dunno what to say..except OH MY GOD! and where the hell was I when this was posted on the blackmarket...Rocky, what did you charge for doing this. I'm not one to really be blown away by mods but this is just gorgeous! It's def something that would be nice to take on in the spring/summer, obviously I don't think mine would come out so gorgeous. Hands down one of the best custom mods i've seen. Rocky/Brian both deserve a round of applause for creating the "million dollar headlight'

So im on the autolumination site and it looks like there are a few LED options for turn signals. Can you tell me which exact model you have? I guess model number, color, etc... I have an 06 TL and I'm looking for the same set you have for turn signals.

As you can tell, im a novice when it comes to this stuff, but your setup looks amazing! Appreciate all the help you can provide!

Brian, you beat me to the punch. Good job.
Those are 500K headlights, not a million. Shame on you for not going all out and doing the ZKW lens swap too, that would have made it a million. I'm glad you like the 6000K bulbs, I have them now, and think they suck. The output is WAY reduced compared to the phillips 85122+... Those are the bomb, but alas, not as blue. I was gonna do the switchbacks too, but didn't like how the while leds had a 10K output... and I wasn't about to install 10K bulbs, the output is even worse. I went with a v-leds yellow... Probably keep the popo's away as well.

That looks so good, I cannot wait to finish my project:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ight=headlight

I plan to knock to knock mine out between Xmas and new years.

Good job. Love the angel eye "zombie eye".
Are your Angel eyes wired as DRLs (as in they're on all the time), or do they come on with the running lights?
