Me v.s is350 & mazda3

Gettin' off of work bout 5p.m i saw a new is350 pull up and pace me on sunset blvd. in sf. we both pull up to a light so i gateshift to first. Green light he jumps a car length ahead of me till bout 45 when he pulls 2 cars till 70. Next stop light he pulls 1/2 car length(I was floorin it) but when i got to 60 he started to pull 2-3 car lengths in front of me ! I catch up to him and ask him what he had and he told me he was stock ! I gave him the and felt like driving to the Lexus dealership trading in my car for an is! Those things are faaaast i can't imagine them modded! 2nd race was on the freeway. I was hitting a 45mph curve @ 60mph when some car tailgated me. He jumps in the lane next to me when I saw mazda 3 (no plates). I dropped it down to second and pulled on him about 2 car lengths and shut it down @ 110mph. I slowed down and waited for him til he was at my rear bumper and dropped it to 2nd again and same results! I wanted to go another round (takin' out my is350 fustrations on him) but he didn't want to play. So how do you think i did v.s the is? My car has a misfiring problem which the dealer wants to blame on my ur pulley (my codes indicate all cylinders misfiring and random misfires so I know i'm losing power) but do you think I should have taken him? Losing sucks!

Who said NOs is the only solution....... just put a supercharger in man.... you wont let that shit come near you... all the modes and than a supercharger... thats wat i have in my mind............If you dont love your car than you can put NOS in it... If You love your car, im sure u wont be thinking abt putting NOS in it.

stop saying NOS, NOS is a brand of nitrous and not the best either. ZEX makes the best kits and if you use nitrous properly it won't kill your car. I may get a 75 shot dry kit someday so I can mess with real sports cars and make them shake their heads in disbelief.

I looked up the times for the is300 0-60 in 5.3 & 14.2 in 1/4 mile. I thought my tl-s w i/h/e/p would be close to that

I think C&D managed 0-60 in 4.9 sec and 1/4mile in about 13.9s. Those IS's are as fast as BMW 335i and Infiniti G35. But I think if you didnt have your misfiring problem, you would have a better chance.

What kind of of tranny is that anyways in the Lexus? Isn't that just a normal 6AT, and not some kind of DSG or F1 type shifter? It's amazing that the Lexus can get those numbers with a normal AT system...just imagine what it is capable of if it has 6MT, DSG, or something better...

Only the IS250 was offered in 6MT, the 350 comes only in 6AT.

Not 2nd gen, 3rd gen MT maybe. We are severly limited by the AT.

I drove an IS350 back in October at the Lexus Drive Event in NY. It is a rocketship of a sedan, and it gets great traction off the line too. Also handles quite nice (the RWD is a huge benefit). Love those cars....

Yeah, they do handle nice with their near perfect weight balance and extremely low center of gravity. Still not out of reach for a modded TL though. I'm only impressed with 350, but way too expensive for me and I could care less for the park-assist.

Nah a 12.7 in 1/4 is out of reach for even a s/c T.L! Maybe the 07 TL-s with mods and a s/c.(wen of if it comes out). I could be wrong but dosen't the 350 have tranny issues?

wtf? I raced a IS350 in 2nd gear up hillside here in South San Francisco and he barely pulled on me... I was behind him tailgaiting and cut over to the right lane and I heard him floor it as soon as I did.... he did have 1 passenger though.

edit: and my CL-S is stock except some dual tip mufflers which I doubt add anything but 1hp or so.

I see...I was just wondering how well the TL was against a Speed3....I saw 3 way race on youtube of one passing a 350z and hanging with a STI.

today i was coming home a IS350 was right on my tail at the light before going up in the ramp, i know he wants to play so i went for it at the light, from 0-50 my car was holding up but when it gets to 60 his car was pulling up besides me but we had to merge on the freeway so we let go but man those car are fast. I own a 08 TL-S btw, my other car is an S2000 which i don't think i can keep up with a "stock" IS on straight away either.

lol dont mess with the IS350 and stay the hell away from the IS-F. Those are pushing 400+hp from a 5.0 and 8-speed paddle-shift tranny. as for trying to beat one, i would s/c

You call my car ugly?

It looks better than the Acura TL. Granted, the TL has very nice design back in the days. It's a little bit outdated now. (no offense intended to anx1300 and iforyou)

Damn sexy..

I like it....it's sweet....the performance specs make it look better too lol. IS250 doesn't look that good without a supercharger.

Even the lady in the Cherokee stopped to look at it!

I like it, especially the front. Are those the 18" wheels?
