This may sound kinda lame, but does anyone use The Club lock on their TL?

Just wondering.
Even though most of my cars have alarms, I still use a regular Club on my cars to deter thiefs.....Although it probably provides little value....
Anyways, I tried my traditional club on my TL, and it the center piece of the club seems to strike the horn...anyone try one of those clubs that fit just at the top of the steering wheel...like this....

It takes about all of 5 seconds to cut through a steering wheel. Don't even waste your money on crap like that.
This is a lot more effective, although it's still not 100% theft-proof.

This is true if the thief is prepared ahead of time. I'll bet 9 out of 10 thieves are opportunists. The Club will keep those types from stealing the car. A true pro is taking your car regardless of what you have. In that case, all you need is enough insurance to cover yourself.

I have the quad legged MasterLock steering wheel lock. It fits my TL just fine and would require more cutting of the wheel to remove it and get the car going.
Let's face it. Anyone who wants your car badly enough and has the knowledge and tools, is going to get it unless you are there to guard it with your gun. These locking devices are deterents and will probably cause over 90% of the BGs to look elsewhere and not mess with your ride. Too many other targets of opportunity from which to chose.

I say let em have it over the look of these security devices and the hassle of messing with setting it up every time. Honestly...if I was a theif....I think I would probably just mess a ride up bad for having one of those things....not sure I would want it then anyway. New is always nice....insurance replacement....only had this luxury once in my life though....knock on wood!

About 15 years ago I had The Club and the damn lock broke.
With it locked on my steering wheel.
It cost me $110 to get a locksmith to come out and drill out the lock so I could get the damn piece of crap off the steering wheel.
So the answer isn't no. It's hell no.

I used the club and the autoloc on my integra...............
but the TL is just not as high of a theft car, and it has a built in transponder (immobilizer) so its already very hard to steal........so I dont use anything on the TL, and if does go, I will have a nice fat check.

Don't forget about Lo-Jack! Anyone have any previous experience with it? At least you have a good chance at finding your car. I guess this applies if your area law enforcement supports the device.

yep...these are all the things I laugh at as I walk into the mall. man some of those things are friggin rediculous looking! Actually....I am so amused by these things....this thread has kind of become the far and unheard of club type or modified club type locking systems. Wow.....like I said...some of em are really crazy and just scream out from a mile away....I probably have something worth stealing in my car! Some of these things seem to attract more attention than they would be worth. I guess at least if there are lots of people around laughing at your ride...its hard to steal though? Gotta give em that benefit...thats for sure! although if I lived in an area where I lost my friggin car over and over...geez...I might consider it? I guess if my insurance went way up it would certainly sway my opionion a bit I bet.

no experience yet but im putting one of those in my mustang. its not worth using the club or anything else cause its so damn easy to steal the old cars.

I have this on my car. If someone breaks in my car will call me for help, if I get there too late I can track her down with GPS and bring her back.

Besides doesnt the TL have a chip or something on the key. You cant hotwire these cars.

For the TL owners, aren't you guys aware of our quite effective immobilizer? I've yet to hear of it defeated.

If you are talking about the autolock, then no it doesn't really work as good as they say. While it does stop your pedal from going down all the way, I noticed that when I had it on one of my cars (an Automatic), if I barely put any pressure on the brake pedal, I am able to put it in gear WITH THE AUTOLOCK ON IT. I stopped using it after a while and I eventually lost the key to it, but I dind't use it anyway.
Like the other person said, its way to unstable as well. Even if you did put it on such that they can't apply ANY pressure to the pedal, all the theif would have to do is wiggle it around a little then it would come lose enough so they can get it in gear.
I am guessing my TL (6MT) would be the exact same way. I don't know if this is by design, but I was just sitting in the car one day in a parking lot and noticed that applying very little pressure to the clutch allowed me to shift it into gear. I NEVER tried this while driving, but it was interesting that I was able to do that while parked. And since thats the case the autolock would be useless.

I think the built-in immobilizer leaves thieves with 2 options -- flat bed or a car jacking. In the case of a car jacking, the Club might actually be useful. As an actual club, I mean.

Most car jacking use so won't help....You can always get another car....
