Lower miles base + navi or higher miles type s?
I'm really struggleng trying to figure out which one I want. I know that I want an 07 or 08 model, and I know its going to have to be an automatic just because of the type of traffic I'm in all the time. Just can't decide if a base plus navigation with 70 to 75 thousand miles for 14k would be a better deal? Or should I spring for same year model, Type S with 85 to 90,000 miles for 17 to 18 K?
I definitely like the way the Type S looks, but in the back of my mind it bothers me having that many miles, but I also know that it being a Honda that's really nothing.
Ugh why can't this just be easy!

Depending on the model year (04-06 and 07/08) the cars are bullet proof. 07/08 probably being more so with the notorious tranny issues of the older ones. I was in the same situation and found a higher mileage (94k) 08 type S for around similar pricing on 50k mile 06's and whatnot. Due to the bulletproof record keeping the previous single owner had, it was almost too good to be true.
Waiting long enough, especially around this time of year will reap great rewards. If performance isnt an issue (you could always add type s tail lights and rims) go for the older model. As the poster above said, it's more about service history than anything

Yeah exactly, the difference in those miles in negligible. Now if one had 25,000 miles and the other 90, well that's a difference. If you know you like the Type S then I would recommend getting that. You don't want to buy the base TL, then be wishing you had a Type S every single day. I made that exact mistake. Bought a base model 07, within a week I was kicking myself everyday and especially every time I saw a Type S. Do I traded it in for a Type S. Lol
Just remember it depends on the vehicles history. For example, I would rather have a car that has only one owner that's in excellent condition with more miles than one with 3 owners, a accident history, a couple repainted panels, and some cosmetic issues with half the miles.

10K difference in miles is negligible if they've been maintained properly, buy the one you want for the what you feel is a good price. I bought a base, because that was the best used one available locally at the time I purchased, plus I love the WDP color.
I've seen 150k mile base model 3g's that are in PRISTINE condition and I've also seen low mileage Type S 3g's that haven't been maintained properly so mileage doesn't mean much when its that small of a difference. If the difference between the two was 30 or 40 thousand miles then thats a different story.

So wait .... what'll you pay for an '07 TL-S with 75,000 miles? WDP/Taupe, lightly modded, 1 owner, great maint., 2 minor dings, newer tires.
I just got mine like 3 months ago, decided for the Type S even with 101,000 miles. Cause of all the extra stuff the base model lacks of and it had a clean carfax with all maintenance done at the dealer. And for me to buy a base and spend money trying to make it look like a type S and never will. Plus the 3.5L intead of the 3.2L
