Lot of scratches and chips

Lots of different threads are talking about scratches and road chips up front. Is the paint really this fragile? Does wax help protect against this type of stuff? Don't really want a clear bra

The chips and scratches are a bit fragile on the TL... (i'm not an expert) I dont think the wax would pretect very much. I would probably prefer a clear bra, but i dont have the money for one..

The clear bra blends very nicely in the car. Somewhat noticeable but i thinks its worth paying the money for the clear bra

Chips and dings happen with ALL cars. Usually its an object hitting the surface

Are the chips and dings less noticeable with the Anthracite color?

Maybe it's worth ponying up the money for a clearbra after all.

Every Honda/Acura I have ever owned is like this, but I am not sure it is truly their paint...not sure that any car is more chip resistant than another, unless one has a paint that reaches out and deflects rocks before they hit the car

I don't see how paint quality has to do with stones flying at your car at 60mph and not get a chip from it. I have never seen a car that could stop chips on the front from happening. My friend has a S55 Amg and his car has chips. I have put the clear bra on my last two vehicles and I love it, it really helps, but make sure you get someone that knows how to put these things on.

I can't stand the way the clear bras look. Yeah, i've got a couple of little chips from the freeway flyers, but so what. Its a car. Its going to get chips and dings and scratches. That's a fact of life. The body side mouldings will not prevent dings either. This topic has got to be in the top ten for recurrance, and its easy to see why. Chips and dings suck and we all dread seeing that first one appear on a new car, but they always happen eventually.

Even though I don't like the anthracite paint very much, it probably will do the best job of concealing chips becuase it most closely resembles the color of the sheet metal's primer paint. I don't know, maybe black would serve that purpose well too, but then you've got the downside that those colors always look dirty. There's no winning.

Someone ever said new EPA stardard make paint thinner. Maybe.

But my car has dozens of chips in front the engine hood since Oct.

This is worse than any cars I've ever owned.

I've 5-6 chips since Dec. But what the heck. Chips are aught to occur. Even if one puts a clear bra it will happen somewhere else on the car. I'm still in dilema whether to put the clear bra on or not.

Spring for the clear bra...trust me....my NBP always looks great and the line on the hood is hardly noticeable.

Rocks will always find a way to damage the front end of the car these days. And the automakers are not make it any easier with the softer paints that are on today's cars.

Yeah the clear bra might seem odd to some and some others might not like how it looks. The clear bra will protect the high impact areas of the car (IE the front end) from road debris that is on our roads. Overtime this will translate into a nicer looking car for you and also a better resale value for you when you sell or trade it in.

The choice for the clear bra is yours and yours alone to make, but many people everyday are finding out why they are happy for getting it.
