I agree with you. The front-end feels like it doesn't belong with the rest of the car. The rest of the car makes up for it!

I think the car looks awesome from all angles. I may be a bit biased, though.

I think the lines of the car are different enough from the Accord to make their own statement. The slope of the car seems more aggressive overall. The sharp lines and narrow front headlights are a bit subtle - I may like the Accord sedan's headlights a little bit better stylistically. But, the TL's headlights also seem to have a more aggressive appearance, at least to me.

I love the looks of the TL all around.

I was actually considering making this car a practical one (read: an Accord) because of the great experience we've had with our Odyssey and our Honda dealer.

When the new Accord came out, though, I couldn't get past the sheet metal. I think Honda really missed the boat on the Accord. The Accord used to be non-descript but attractive. Now I just find it ugly. The tail end especially is completely bungled.

Looking at the TL and Accord side-by-side, it's hard to believe they spring from the same platform.

Mike

When I first started my car search, I thought the TL had a front-end which was very similar to the Pontiac Bonneville and that steered me away from the car even though I thought the rest of the styling is outstanding!!! I drove the G35, 330, 9-3 and A4 and had certain things about each car that I liked. Then I swung by my Acura dealer to drive the TL and was sold after driving it. At that point, I determined I could get over the front-end as I would never see it much; however, now that I've been admiring my brochure and other TL's I'm starting to like the front-end.

When I told one of my buddies that I was looking into buying a TL, he said "I like the back, but the front just looks like a Honda". I said "Good, because if you are trying to keep up with me in your A4, all you will see is the back."

The front is the weak link to this car and as far as Accords go they look nothing like the TL, you can tell they are from the same family from the side only. The Accords were at their nicest/look from 90-93 especially the EX model and the 94-95 EX model with the triangular shaped lights.

I totally agree. I've made close to the same points several times in this forum.

I thought I was the only one that noticed this.

The pointy snoot and the squarish back end do seem to contradict. Oh well, I still love it.

Funny how you guys are saying that the back end is ok and the front end is not ok. I remember when the '04 TL Prototype came out, none of us were feeling the back end of the TL as alot of people said it looks like the rear of the Jetta or Passat. Also, I remember some people didnt like the shape of the rear exhaust tips as they looked too "American" and the how the black license plate holder is on the trunk instead of the rear bumper. I think the front end looks good as it is looks muscular, sharp, and futuristic but it resembles the '98-00 Accord and TSX too much. I personally think the back end of the new TL is bland and boring. They need to make the tailights more stylish.

I think svtmike hit the nail on the head. I think the front end looks good overall and the back end really looks great. My co-worker has an 03 accord with Navi and parks right next to me. It's amazing how much better the Acura looks (IMO).
