Question Looking for some advice...

I am trying to decide on whether to purchase a 2005 or 2006 TL.

The my local dealer said that they would come down about $2000 on the 05 TL but would probably only come down about $500 from MSRP on the 2006 when they come out.

Considering how little changed between the two years and the fact that Acura will probably raise the price of the 2006 by about 2% or $700 am i better off buying a 2005?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I absolutely love my 05 TL. If you can get a new 2005 model for a deal at the end of the season like this I would go for it. Why pay more for basically the same car that is only slightly younger?

Another factor is how long are you going to keep the car.

If you are going to keep it forever, then it won't matter when you go to trade it in, but if you only keep it a few years, you may lose about as much as you saved buying the 05.

If you check edmunds, you will see that the 05 is worth about $1,500 more than an 04. In a few years the differences may get smaller, but it is still something to consider.

Don't shop at a single dealer. Use edmunds.com and/or call the dealers in your area for offers. Then use this information to get counteroffers. $2000 of the MSRP may be pretty good in your area but a week ago I got my TL at invoice which is $3000 less than MSRP and $1200 less than edmund's TMV. Good luck!

Cool Thanks for the Advice! It really paid off!!

Thanks for the good advice. I shopped the Acura dealers as much as i could to got counter offers. This was not very easy though, since they were about 3 to 4 hours from one another. It did help out since I was able to get a grey TL 2005 with Navi for 2660 below MSRP at my local dealer. Not quite as good of deal as what Mangust got, but much better than I thought I would originally get.

I can’t wait to pick my TL up tomorrow! Thanks again!

Congrats on the new ride!! You've got navi and I don't! I'm jealous!

Just be sure to keep in mind that they reduced the price because they want to make room for the new 06' TLs' that will arrive soon. Depreciation was also a factor since this car will depreciate a tad once the new year rolls in. I would've pushed for them to lower the price even more!

Congrats!
Good job on shopping around. I guess I had an easier time since I have a half dozen dealers within one hour radius.
