Looking to purchase a TL soon...feedback would help

I've been browsing for a TL for the past month or so. I think I found two that I like. 06 blk on blk with 66k for $15,900 at a dealer or 04 silver with 30k for $15,900. Boths cars have navi and look pretty clean. What would some of you guys choose? I dont really care about the color I just want some imput on what is a better deal. Are there some problems I should be aware of on 2004 models compared to 2006? My recents cars have been integras, civics and lately RSX so I figure I leave the sport compact scene and get into something different for a change. I did find other TL's without navi for a cheaper price so im wondering if I should hold out for only navi models.

I was looking at this, supercharged TL

I would go with the 06. The 04's were a more problematic because it was the first model year.

When I was looking for a TL, all the 04s I tested had little problems here and there, but any of the 05+ I test drove were all fine. If you read reviews on edmunds, a lot of the 04 owners had some troubles. So I ended up with a 05.

06 is the better deal, but I'm sure many of the members here would advise you not to let a low price blind you from potential problems. 66k miles in less than 3 years is more than average, so check to make sure the car is adequately maintained. Carfax and prepurchase inspections are a good place to start. Good luck.

Edmunds 2004 TL Consumer reviews
I read most of them because I was looking at a few 04s. There are 350+ reviews on the 04 TL, there's quite a few people who wouldn't recommand the 04. A lot less for the 05 and on.

i totally agree, don't let those dealers fool you =o cheap price for a tl can be a blind deal make sure you also test drive the car to see if you like it or not, test driving a car can change your decision

Get the 06 and get Nav for sure. Just MY 2 cents.

Personally I would not get black. WDP RULES IMO

thanks for the replys, i figured the 04 with 30k miles would've been a better deal, i drive about 15k miles a year and when i go to resell the car it would have still less than 100k, if i get the 06 i would hit 100k in 3yrs. keep the feedback coming, i plan on buying a car soon.

I got a 05 and i dont have a NAVI and its a 6 speed and I couldnt be more happy. I love the car and I dont understand what the difference is between an 06 and 05 or 04 and what the problems are but my car has 58k and no problems.

Nice car... However, I'm surprised that it ended up in the pre-owned inventory due to the aftermarket bolt-on supercharger.

Then again, I've seen worse at a dealership.

Ah ic, thanks for the heads up. I guess I got lucky , since the only fit problem which really bothers me is the alignment of the trunk, which is slightly off to the right by 1 or 2mm.
