Man, you cannot resist driving fast in OK, right?

Have you known any reputable companies which have produced the successful and relizable chip or ECU stuff in the past? Have you tried to contact them and ask their development schedule?

I called Jet Preformance today and they do have an upgrade ready!!! The cost is $299 which includes one way overnight shipping grom them back to you. Expected gains are up to 15. Someone on this board has had it done and he said the results were significant. Theyre located in Cali so I might drive my TL up there during x-mas break this year (the guy suggested getting everything else put in before upgrading the ECU for best results). So thats when im planning on getting it upgraded after I get all the other stuff which I hope is out by then.

I also spoke With comptech today and they should be releasing a Downpipe sometime this year... which would do a little bonus...by the way.. ive neve heard of an intake doing 10-15 HP =P ... that must be some SUPER DUPER intake... heheh

And you would actually put a super charger (Turbo) on your TL???... its hard to trust people who custon make those Turbos.. once you put it on.. you will have problems for life... or so i heard?...

The exhaust on the TL is pretty good already. I don't think there is a lot to be gained from the comptech exhaust. Thus the 8-10hp increase noted. I may be pleasantly surprised and go for it myself once it's out. However, I will not be an early installer of the comptech exhaust as I was with the Injen CAI. I will wait for some other guinea pigs to do it first and post before and after dyno info.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but I don't think you are going to be able to run the AEM intake and the supercharger. It's kinda one or the other.

lol yeah their was no turbo for the second gen because their was no ecu to give the proper fuel to air ratio that was the whole problem with the tsx .. but if hondata comes out with the tsx chip and its compatible with TL ... ill be sayin DID i just smoke u
Mr. M3 ....yes i did hehe

dotn read the next part unless youre bored i had to vent

Everyone is like why would u get a TL if you want to go fast well one i liek sleeping cars that know one knows about like my fathers jag . its a supercharged xj8 the biggest model jag their is know one knows so he takes it to the track and lines up with a vette or a turboed gti a few supras adnd.. they just laught untill all they see is the smoke of the tires and the exhaust off my dads jag .. id ratehr a sleeping giant then a car that looks liek an evo because knowone willr ace you and that just takes the fun out of tuning.. why do kids get civics if they wanna race becasue their cheap and you can tune it... so with the tl its not sheap buyt why not tune it if you want too the made the parts why not use em... dunno just had to vent im sick of people tellin me im crazee that i want to make my TL A BEAST ... so theres the reason why i do it lol

Well the TL cannot have Headers... if you look under the hood, you can clearly see that putting headers is impossible.. But... BUT ,, i called Comptech they will make a downpipe and exhaust... i believe there is a chip to come out soon also... and i hear AEM intake does "16 HP" which i just donno about that... we will have to wait and see... but if you think about it.. that would be false advertising.. so hrpmh .. maybe it just might do 16 HP...after all technology these days has increased tremendously .. BUT 16 HP just seems a little exaggerated...
usually HP boosters go like this:

Intake: 5-7 HP
Exhaust: 7-8 HP
Headers: 8-9 HP
Turbo: 30 + HP depending on how good they make it.....

honestly the only way of getting to 320s HP is by putting on a Turbo... and no one is going to make them and have the shipped out n stuff... You would most likely have to go to a Local Performance shop and have them build one for you... slap on a turbo and you will definately beat Vettes and race up against M3s n stuff... One problemo.. good luck with the problems you will receive after you install it...

But the TL wasnt the best choice to buy if you wanted to make a MEan lean fighting machine.. This isnt a Civic RavingStylez... its rather exspensive.. you will risk too much doing all those stuff...

That aem dyno is the biggest crock i have ever seen. I dont' believe an intake will add 16hp. Unless they were ITB's. On my Type R i had an aem, spoon drop in, arc induction and a mugen. They were all around the same. 5-6 hp gain. I would expect to get 16 hp from an intake, header, and exhaust combination, but not one of the three. You still have major restrictions in your breathing. Headers, a bunch of cats and exhaust.

Its wishful thinking smothered in snake oil.

Actually, it's not very good English, because he ended the sentence in a preposition. The correct version is:

Where does one find a local Dyno on which to test?

Personally, i believe AEM's numbers. I have owned a couple of their cold air systems, had one on my 00 si, and had one on my 02 rsx-s. The rsx dyno showed 18 ponies to the wheels, which after being in the car stock, then being in it after install, you really could feel the difference without trying. Same went for the si but to a less degree. A few of my buddies have a race team, I've seen mods in just about everything from wrx's to g35's, as far as intakes go, with the exception of non vtec motor, and anything type r because they were so worked from the factory already, nothing makes hp like an AEM cold air on a honda.

Where does one find a local Dyno to test on, assclown?
How's that for a good fix? They did a joke on that on Designing Women I think it was.

Some of these hp claims make me think they should be hawked from the back of a wagon: Dr John's Magic Horsepower Elixir.

www.dynojet.com

hunt around on that site and you'll find a list of dynos near you. Unless you live in the boonies, then you'll find a list of dynos near the rest of us.

you kiddies talkin about turboing a TL ought to know that this car wouldn't take very well to a turbo.

why?

High compression motor (no good for turbo)

it could be done, but with very little boost

The torque steer was reduced quite a bit by the a-spec I thought.

Yep. Owners of supercharged second gen CL's and TL's hate their cars and wish they hadn't done it. Just ask them.

I suppose you COULD rebuild the engine w/ lower compression parts, but thats A LOT of time and money. Might as well buy a NSX or vette or something.

Mods are NOT additive...

there is NO way you will get 370hp at the crank of an automatic TL w/o nitrous

How is the new supercharger for the '04 TL going to produce more hp than the current one?? Max hp increase for the 5AT will be 40hp.
