Looking to buy a 3rd Gen TL

Looking at buying a 3rd gen TL. After 8 weeks of hounding insurance about my car I finally found out that my vehicle is being written off. So I am in the market for a car and have owned Honda's previous to this and am looking to spend up to 14000 CAD on a 3rd gen TL. Are there any issues I should be aware of mechanically or electrically? I prefer to drive stick but finding a TL with a six speed can be difficult and most of the cars I've viewed on line have between 140000 kilometers and 180000 kilometers is this to many kilometers to be a good buy? I'd like to own this car for the foreseeable future. Any help would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

The 04,05,06 had auto trans issues. I think it was remedied buy changing
out 3rd/4th gear switches and doing a 3 part trans flush. Their is a DIY -
do it yourself section on just about everything regarding 3GTL.

I would look at the 07/08 models the last yrs of the 3gtl's since those are
the more desirable yrs. Of course the newer the better.

Am I to assume that thats a good amount of kilometers and there are not to many problems with the thrid gen TL's? I like the newer models but at 14 grand I have not found any 07's or 08's with a manual transmission in that price range.

Go for an 07 - 08 for sure if that's the price range you're looking into plus it's very reliable.

If you're looking for a MT then you can get an 04-06 in your price range. Tranny issues related to these years are for the AT.

Be aware of the recommended service of timing belt & water pump that will be due at 105,000 miles. You can use that as a negotiating item if you do your own work. If not, you will want to see if that service has been completed - nothing worse than getting stuck with a significant charge ($800-1000 US if performed by a shop) immediately after the purchase.
