Locking

Locking
I just noticed that I can't lock my doors with the fob when a door is still open (car is off and key is removed). In other words, all the doors must be closed before locking with the fob. That just doesn't seem right. Anyone else notice this?

Everyone else will notice this eventually, because that's the way it is. And also if the trunk is open you can't lock the doors with the keyfob, but you can if the hood is open.
It is a safety feature. Why would you want to lock the doors if one is open? OK, there may be a time that a passenger hasn't exited yet and you want to lock the doors before the passenger's door is closed, but you can't do it.
In this case, use the switch by the door handle, or push down the lock knob at the rear of the door panel, to lock all the doors, even if another door or the trunk is open.

I'm definitely used to locking the doors before the passenger door is closed. Like I said, this is the first car I've ever owned where you can't do this. For the first few weeks, I thought I was locking the door with the fob, even with other doors open. It took a while to realize and test that this doesn't work. It's not a big deal, but I don't see the point to this type of setup.

I just tried this again today, and I can lock the doors using the fob with the trunk open. I checked by pulling the door handles and for sure the doors are locked. It won't beep because the security system won't activate. The Security LED on the driver's door won't blink either, until the trunk is closed.
Not sure why 04 and 05 will be different though, because other Hondas that I know, like my old Gen 6 Accord I was able to lock the doors with the fob with the trunk open.

Wait a minute, that was me. I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but since everyone has been saying they can, I went out and checked again and I can too.
Sorry for the confusion.
