Lo Jack cost?

what is the cost of lo jack w/ installation? how much will it decrease my insurance premium?

i'm trying to think of ways to knock down my insurance to the minimum. i'm planning to get the defensive driving certificate for a 10% insurance discount which is pretty good. im also moving to staten island soon and that would be much lower compared to brooklyn rates.

now i'm thinking if i get lo jack installed and have it decrease my insurance significantly then it would be a good investment in the long run.

i got quoted about 895 for low jack installed when i bought my car and the dealership buti declined. i have searched the internet and have found prices as low as 695 installed. lo jack is suppose to reduce your insurance up to 25%.

Just a thought, but I don't think it will cut your entire bill by 25%, probably just the collision/theft part. Your liability wouldn't be affected by having lo-jack, nor would uninsured motorists, etc.

Lo-Jack cost me $695 with the early warning protection. My insurance on the TL went down 20% off the compressive. The total savings will not pay for the lojack until about 2-3 years depending on how much the insurance premium goes up each 6 month period in NYC

Never heard of early warning. I'm assuming this was just the basic LoJack system.

Is that for lifetime?

You guys should make sure that you pay for lifetime when you buy Lo Jack. I paid $465 including lifetime. If you don't there may be additional fees to keep it current.

Check out Boomerang...it's like LoJack, but it uses Cell Phone Technology. Installation is about $500.

Oops, LoJack just acquired Boomerang in August...not sure exactly what this means, but it may mean, no more Boomerang.

one thing you guys should remember before you buy it. you cant take it out of your old car to put it in your new, b/c its not transfurable between cars. they instal it in a way that it cant be taken out.

Whether it affects your insurance premium depends on who your carrier is. Some of them don't consider these sorts of things.
