Light Modification-

I'm looking to put LED in my ceiling lights and door lights, the courtesy lights that come on when you open the door.

Does anybody know how to get into these? The ceiling looks like there is a spot for a screwdriver to pop it open, but I don't want to harm the vehicle in any way.
If there is a way to safely get into this are, please tell me.

Also, the door lights, is it possible to get into it without taking the door panel off?
There probably is, I just don't want to mess around with a new car.

Thanks for your advice,

Be

You can get all the LEDs online. I ordered mine from superbrightleds.com. I have blue 9 LED blues in the front ceiling lights and doors and then 6 LED lights in the back ceiling lights. I think you can fit 9 in the back but the front and back might not match. Also, just to let you know all the bulbs are wedge bulbs if you didn't know. And all the plastic covers (ceiling and doors) can just be taken off with a screwdriver. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I know they are plastic covers, but will a screwdriver damage the plastic?
I don't want a cracked cover, you know? I'll probably try putting a rag over the screwdriver to prevent damaging it, but I wasn't sure if there was another way.
Thanks.

I just used a screwdriver. No rag. They did not damage at all. They come off really easy. Also there are litter slots to put the screwdriver in. If you do that you will be fine.

Does anybody know how to get the front ceiling bulbs out?

I was able to get the door and back lights out, but the front ceiling lights are not budging.

I used a pair of standard pliers (I can't fit my fingers in there very well) wrapped in a paper towel. Of course, I applied enough pressure so that I could grab the bulb, but not too much that it crushed it. Try using a slight wedging approach method and you'll be fine.

Somebody told me it was welded... maybe just misunderstood?

I tried to force it out, but it isn't going anywhere. Maybe I should put more effort / strength into it. Anyways, I am going to get back to it, maybe it will budge. Thanks again

You'll be OK. Just don't break the bulb...but you don't even need to worry about that. Just be sure to get a good grip on it, and it'll come out. It'll require a little bit of force, though.

I've replaced the lights, except the front, will work on it later, but does this require any installment of resistors or anything like that?
Is this process going to screw up the electronical system?

I think "electronical" is a George W. Bush-ism!

You should be fine without installing any resistors.

Yes, I agree, haha.
I finally got the damn light out, it took me a few minutes, but after some force and wiggling, the bulbs budged. Now I can sleep, but the bulbs I got aren't too nice.
They seem more white than blue, but I'll just use them in the interior and get blue-er ones for the doors.

Thanks everybody who replied.

Thanks for the site, but is there anywhere I can buy these locally?
I only use debit, and they only charge to credit.

If there is anyone from Chicago who would like to do me a HUGE favor, buy it and I'll rebuy it from you, because I normally don't buy stuff online.

I need the 168/194Bulbs(2) in Blue.

If anybody around Mount Prospect would like to help me out, it'd be appreciated... otherwise I am going to have to wait for my LEDs.
