Lifetime oil changes

Hey guys,

I got my salesman down to 33,725.00 for a 05 TL auto with nav. I tried my luck and said I would take it as long as I got free lifetime oil changes. He laughed and said only Honda does that and not Acura. I thought I heard somewhere that you get them to through this in? He did tell me that he would give me his employee discount. So did any of you guys get the oil changes for free?

There is no difference between an 04+ TL V6 and a Accord V6 when it comes to the basic il change process. Its even the same price.

Tell the guy hes blowing smoke.

PS: I just had my A Service and got it done at a local Honda Dealer (Affluent Area but surprisingly with no Acura Dealer in this particular Auto Mall) for $24.95. The 1 in an A1 is Tire Rotation and thats not till 7500. I had to get my A at 4000mi

Its dealer dependent. Some want your business, others don't.

There is just NO way I would let someone else change my oil.. even if they paid me to do it. Do yourself a favor and change your oil yourself. Do a search on this site for reasons why I say this.

Yea its dealer dependent. I was offered tires for life from one dealer, which costs them more than oil changes for life, but I didn't want to drive 60 miles to get all my maintenance done there. Check to see if they offer any other kind of deals like tires for life.

My dealer includes a lifetime powertrain warranty.

There was also an option for lifetime hand carwashes for $149. I was all over that one.

I got lifetime oil changes for free.

As for the hand car wash---that comes standard, to my knowledge at all Acura dealers, whenever you bring in the car.

At the local dealer (not the one i purchased from) they offer lifetime oil change for $250 fee then no fees after that... they charge $30/oil change so after 8 oil changes you break even....

but, some dealers offer it, some dont offer it

It is indeed dealer dependent. It's not so much who wants your business & who doesn't, but who has managed to write the cost in to doing business & not hurting the bottom line.

I work at a Honda dealer, and used to work at an Acura dealer, and both have offered this in the past. The sales department had underwritten the cost in both cases. I'd rather pay for my oil changes & get a better deal on the car.

be carefull of strings attached. most offer free oil changes IF you do all scheduled maintenance with them which of course will cost you a ton of money by themselves.
