led installation problem
led installation problem
i did a search and saw that some of you have trouble removing the stock lights. i tried all the methods that were mentioned in those threads and i cant seem to find a way to get the stock lights out.
i tried using...
-rubber gloves
-masking tape
-and i tried wiggling it out little by little for 30 minutes
but i can seem to get it out. this is not just with the front dome lights but also with the rear dome lights. my hands doesnt seem to fit into the crevasse.
does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to get the stock lights out?

i originally had the problem you are having.... what i did was fish a piece of electric tape around the bulb and stick it to the other end... you should be able then to pull it out with no problem... i was going to try the pliers technique but was afraid i would break it.

firstly, i cant try to pull it out with needle nose pliers because i dont have a pair and secondly, i wouldnt even if i had it because im afraid that i would break the bulb since i dont have the steadiest of hands. breaking the bulb would be disastrous so i want to avoid that at all costs.
i will try wiggling it up and down when i try to install it next time. when i wiggle it, i do it from side to side so that might be the problem.
Here's what I did:
1. Cut a 6"-8" strip of electrical tape.
2. Fold that strip of tape length-wise (so that it sticks to itself).
3. Put the middle of the tape on top of the light bulb, all the way back to the base of the bulb.
4. Fold the tape around the bulb so that it is very snug all around.
5. Use the tape to pull the bulb out.
Mine came out first try both times!
I felt like I had invented time travel or something.
I hope that this can prevent many sore fingers...
