large oil filter vs. slim oil filter
what's the final word on using the bigger, wider oil filters as opposed to the thin ones? I know K&N filters for the TL are the larger ones, and i think so are the mobil 1 filters. Asides from lower oil pressure, and slower warm up time, are there any other downsides to using the bigger filters?
also, anyone know a good place to purchase the 15400-PLM-A01 filters? lowest ive found is 5.50+ship

You're comparing the M-104 vs the M-110 for the Mobil 1, and the HP-1004 vs the HP-1010 for the K&N. I personally prefer the larger filter (the 4's) as it obviously has more filter area inside.
I use Bosch oil filters. Just as good as the Mobil 1's in my opinion for about ½ the price. The fatter one is the 3312 and the slim one is the 3323.

oil pressure is not going to drop with a larger capacity filter
What slower warm up time? The oil pump turns- the oil flows

maybe it's my imagination. when i first got the car, the temp warms up rather quickly. once i changed to the bigger filter, the warm up time increased or maybe it's something else?

The S2000 filter is 1/8" taller and that eqauls (cylindrical volume only) about 5% larger, IIRC.

The one I use on the '67vette is from a GMC/Chevy truck & is about twice as long as the standard Corvette filter, about the length of a 1 quart milk container. The Vette also has a 8 quart pan so a change is 9 quarts. That about 2X a TL change.

acutally it makes perfect sense why a larger capacity filter would cause slower warm ups. it takes longer to get a gallon of water to boil than a cup of water so a larger capacity filter would mean there is more oil in the system meaning it would take longer but honestly the difference is so small i find it hard believe there is a real difference. maybe a min or two at the most?

That logic ONLY works if you run the exact at the full dot oil level
Many of us throw in a full 5 qts, putting it just above full- so the total amount is not in question. If you have a pressure problem its time to run seafoam in the oil before its changed
