Well this is my first foreign car/first front drive car. Last car was a 2004 Mercury

Marauder S/C, and Crown Vics before that. These cars are solid as a rock, no

squeels no rattles, somthing I can get used too. Was a member at

www.mercurymarauder.net and somone refered me to this site, awesome site

at that. One quick question, I have a 2006 TL and I wanted to tint the windows.

The company tells me the door panels need to be removed to put a felt kit in.

He tells me these cars scratch the tint because of door panles. For those

of you with tint, is this true? Thanks guys.

 

Yes, this is true, some don't have the felt and have been ok. I recommend putting in the felt, you will save yourself having to have your windows retinted.

 

With my '05 TL I had no scratches, with my '06 I have one scratch on the drivers window about 6 inches long. I didn't have felt installed on either of them.

There's been some talk on this board about the felt not holding up anyways.

Most tint places will replace tint if scratched.

 

I tinted my windows and didnt get moleskin. Had no problems. Decided to put moleskin on, still have no problems.
