black fade

I normally use armoral on my dash and doors, but according to some members...that isn't a good idea.

So, I went outside to clean my dash a little while ago with just water, and when I did so, some of the dark parts such as the door handle casing, the plastic around the clock, and such faded to a white haze on top of the black...looking terrible. Is this temporary or something I can easily remove?

When I get a chance, I want to buy some good dash cleaner and protectant. I'm going to pick up some 303 soon, but I was wondering is there anything I should do to remove the armoral layer? Thanks
