Knock Sensor

I stopped by Autozone today and had them scan my car for codes since the check engine light suddenly came on. They hooked up their OBD II scanner and discovered code P0325. So, it looks like I have a bad Knock Sensor. I did a search and found a good DIY from jdb8805. Thanks man for the DIY! Anyway, has anyone else attempted this repair themselves? Any shortcuts or tips you guys have? Also, does anyone have a pic of the updated wire/sensor that's supposed to be more rat/mouse resistant? LOL

Could it be something else besides the Knock Sensor?

Come on guys and gals. Over 60 views and not one single response! Help a brother out. What happened to all the members complaining about having this issue... Looks like a pretty straight forward DIY, but I'd like to make sure I get the right replacement/updated part before i jump into it. Especially since it's kind of a PIA to do...

i had a knock sensor reading, and it turned out the rats went into the little V compartment under the car, which is common in V6 cars, and it chewed the wires since it was hungry. normally, that is a $400 fix, but the idiot rat was f*cking starving, so he chewed up most of the wires, causing for a $1500 fix for a new engine wiring harness.

get it checked asap. has it rained recently in your area or been really cold? because the rats come looking for shelter when you tunr your car off since the engine is still hot.

Will do, thanks man. I'll have Autozone clear it and see if it comes back. It blows my mind that Honda engineers used a material that attracts rats! WTF!!!!! There was enough of an issue that they re-designed the wire/sensor but those of us that are having the problem are still SOL.

Florida did go through a cold spell this winter and I kept the car outside while I refinished the garage floor and worked on another project, so it may have happened then. I still find it hard to believe! I wish I could visually check the wire before I rip it all apart. Sorry to hear it was such a huge financial pain for you bro.

Maybe I'll take the opportunity to port the intake manifold while it's off...LOL
