Killed a new Audi A4
Killed a new Audi A4
I drove the TL into work today which is rare. I usually ride the vanpool for the 45 mile drive to work but I changed a few things with the stereo so I decided to drive. On the way home I turned off of the main highway to a 2-lane road with a 50mph speed limit. I'm going 60mph with a few trucks in front of me leaving a good distance considering windshield #4 had just been replaced. This new white A4 comes up on me hard, as in I wasn't sure if he was going to hit the brakes or hit me.
So I ease up closer to the truck in front of me because he looks like he's going to pass and cut in front of me. Normally I wouldn't care but he's about 4 feet off of my rear bumper so I'm pretty annoyed considering there's a line of cars and trucks in front and we're already going over the speed limit. The road eventually turns into two lanes. The trucks take the left, I take the right. The Audi tries to floor it and cut me off from the left land and squeeze in the gap between me and the truck. Not happening. As we're pulling up to the red light we were side by side for a second and he's staring at me. I shake my head side to side to shame him, the what an idiot shake.
He eventually weaves in and out of traffic and ends up in front of me and I'm behind 3-4 cars just taking it easy. I'm watching him up in front swerving, changing lanes to gain precious inches, flooring it off of every red light just to be caught by the next one. As luck would have it, all of the cars in front of me turn off and we end up side by side at a redlight. I turn off traction control and tree him pretty good. There was one point around 45mph where it seemed like he gained on me a little or was at least holding even but I pulled a solid 3-4 car lead through 3rd and shut it down right before it hit the revlmiter in 3rd (manually shifting 3rd only, which helps a lot in the auto, anything you can do to prolong the shift to 4th gear). I immediately hit the brakes so he sees my brake lights and he stays in it until he's past me and slams on the brakes and turns, nearly losing it. He acted as if his life depended on making that turn. I guess he didn't want to stop for the next red light with me.
I was laughing that my stock TL beat his new Audi even though I've got a ton of audio equipment including 150lbs of sound deadening. As many can see from this section, I might race the TL once a year if that but this one was too good to pass up with this retard driving. To make it better, my car hasn't been washed in a month and it recently rained just enough to make it look like I drove it through the mud.

With the gay "turbo" emblem on it from the previous owner. That's in the garbage now.
The "new" motor dyno'd 602rwhp, I got the weight down to just a hair over 3,000lbs while looking almost stock. Should go bottom 10s in the mid 130s but I've had the "new" engine in it along with the weight reduction for 7 years and haven't had it to the track to see what she will actually do.
Mine is probably an 89mph car lol.
