Keyless Remote Linking for Drivers 1 & 2

Keyless Remote Linking for Drivers 1 & 2
I made an online purchase of two keyless remotes (same part number for both) for my 2004 Acura TL with a seller guarantee they would link-up for Drivers 1 & 2 (Driver 1 for first remote programmed, then 2).
Basic functions worked fine upon programming but then the Keyless Memory Customization Settings disappeared.
I need to provide evidence to the seller (and the sales platform) that I did not receive the promised items.
My Owner's Manual instructs how to unlink and link the remote transmitters from the DPMS (Driving Position Memory System) by pressing Lock/Unlock simultaneously.
So, I tried that (even though they should have linked automatically) but, instead of getting two short LED flashes (unlink) or a one-second LED flash (link), I get an instant short LED flash each time (Quick Start manual says LED "blinks" once to link)--nothing happens at the car.
So, in order to prove these remotes do not have customization capability, I need to be able to explain that the failure is not the fault of my car due to the way the remotes respond to the button presses (same each time).
Assuming the remotes cannot receive a signal, they would have to retain a memory of the last customization setting (i.e., linked or unlinked).
In theory then, one could test an OEM (or equivalent) remote using the simultaneous button presses and receive alternating LED lights (one, then two) whether or not anywhere near a compatible car.
Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, as I wrote: Basic functions worked fine upon programming but then the Keyless Memory Customization Settings capability disappeared.
I need to make sure I understand whether the Owner's Manual is providing accurate information on how the remote is used to unlink and link once programmed (i.e., 2 short flashes for unlink and 1-second flash to link by pressing Lock & Unlock together).
So, in order to prove these remotes do not have customization capability (which I believe to be the case), I need to be able to explain to the seller that the failure is not the fault of my car due to the way the remotes respond to the button presses (same each time both buttoms are pressed--immediate single flash).
Assuming the remotes cannot receive a signal, they would have to retain a memory of the last customization setting (i.e., linked or unlinked). Am I on track?
