Question To Beep or NOT TO BEEP

Keyless Access Beep(The owners manual on page 90)

If you unlock the doors by pressing the botton on the remote or by grabbing the drivers door handle while carrying the remote, the beeper sounds once(mine sounds twice).

When you lock the doors, the beeper sounds twice( mine sounds once when touching the door dimple and DOES NOT beep if I use the remote)

If however I use the remote and lock the doors twice I do get the required confirmation(doors locked) beep as indicated in the little Quick Guide Manual)

This is the second issue where things were backwards, the first being the linking the FOBs to the car.

At least when I put the car in drive it does go forward

Mine does the same as yours. Probably the manual is wrong here or it can be configurable somehow. I never bothered to read this section of the manual, so I never realized there is some discrepancy.

I'm pretty sure the mistake is in the manual. The RL I drove did the double beep when unlocking from the remote, single beep when locking. Further, the G1 RL does a double beep when unlocking and a single beep when locking. All the other automakers do the exact same thing.

I must clarify my original post:

I DO NOT get any beeps when opening the door(s) when using the remote.

I get TWO beeps if I open the door by grabbing the handle.

I DO NOT get any beeps using the remote to lock the door.

I do get one beep when I press the lock on the remote twice( this is correct).

I get one beep if I press the door nipple to lock the car

The manual indicates "BEEPS" when using the remote.

Could you please tell me where I can read otherwise. Much appreciated.

hmm, pretty sure mine beeps if i use the remote. I never do but I believe I have used it in the past and it beeped.

Also the manual is wrong if it in fact does say two beeps to lock and one to unlock. it is the reverse as everyone has seen.
