Keep or Sell...

Looking for opinions on this... So, next Wednesday I'm getting a set of replica Type S Waffles ( Tobacco Road Auto - Ebay ) , with some Nankang Ns-20 tires to go with it ( thanks tl-gixxer ) . My question is, would it be worth it to sell the stock wheels I have? I'm assuming they aren't worth too much , they aren't in bad shape, a little curb rash on 1 or 2 . My biggest concern would be if I ever go to sell the car, the buyer might want the stock wheels .

I use my stock wheels for winter. If you have winters over there, you got a good excuse to keep them.

you could argue that the replica type-s wheels are the stock ones.

20 years from now, some isnt going to be like...no, i dont want the waffles i want the 5 stars....

Store your stock wheels in shed or somewhere. In 4 years you might decide to sell the car. Your type-s reps will be worth more than your Patrick 5 star wheels.

I know you just got the car but trust me there will be a day that you buy another car

Realistically, what would 4 Wheels go for? With or without tires prices , I would sell either way. I don't need winter tires in NC. I think if I could get $250+ I would just let them go.

I've sold a set of 5 stars before for about that.. but that was a few years back. If you have room why not keep for spare? If you strapped for cash, sell em.

pretty easy decision

I always think selling the OEM wheels is a bad idea. In my opinion, it looks much better to buy a car with the stock wheels and another set, whatever it may be, on the side.

To each their own, I suppose...

I had seen a set of 4 with tire at 60% treads left, decent condition going for $275 local here in Houston. Check your local craiglist for better pricing.

If you live in a cold weather climate where you get snow, save them for Winter.

My stocks are stacked in my garage in the corner.

Keep us posted. You'll love it

Can we get a mod to remove that Patrick Starfish wheel ( ahem...Steven ) , I'm cringing every time I see it, I really hope that was painted over Plasti-Dip and can just be peeled off. Thanks for your opinions everyone, I definitely understand from a buyers view that having the extra set of stock wheels looks better. Oh, and lol - what is ice/snow? The entire southeast shuts down for any type of winter precipitation , so no need for a winter set, good suggestion though.

Nice to see that you jumped on the Type S wheels! I sold my stock set for $200 since i don't plan to sell the car, and don't need extra wheels laying around. Can't wait to see photos!

welcome to the Internet, you'll see somethings you're not very happy with. Stay away from it for your own safety!

Working on it, brought the tires home today, they are disgusting so no pictures until they're scrubbed down. Wheels are expected to arrive Thursday, I'm beyond excited. Not to mention the fact I still don't actually understand how to upload pictures. Which can be seen in my post on the Black Market

I use photobucket. Upload the pics to their site. Then copy and paste the img codes. Simple.

I do everything from an iPad , so I'm not sure how that will work. I was going to create a thread to keep pictures of its 'mods' later on and include them their. Wheels will be here later today.

i think about selling my 07 base wheels as well, but keep them incase i trade the car in
definitely not trading it in with the S wheels ... that would be a waste

For the price, you can't beat it.

I'm extremely happy with the wheels and tires, even though I was quite skeptical of the tires because of them not being a mainstream "expensive" tire.

So far I really like the way the tires feel, and they have a lot of good reviews from Sports Sedan/Coupe owners. A lot of people bought as cheap temporary tires but ended up keeping them because of how much they liked them.
