K & N this weekend....

i finally got the filter. since NJ just got pummeled by 2 snow storms in just 3 days, i think i'll put it in when the weather gets nicer tomorrow. so far, my 04 TL 6MT NAV HPT is averaging about 23 MPG in mixed driving with 2700 miles.

i used to remember when my 01 BMW 530i can get me 450 miles in a tank full of gas (18.5 gallons). i can barely get over 300 miles on this TL. granted that the TL has a bigger engine and a smaller tank (17 gallons?).

we'll just have to wait and see......

HAHA :lol1:

It definitely makes a difference, but it is not the be all end all of power enhancements. Bottom line more air = more power!!

These produce quantifiable increases in power and torque.

Of course, none of those types of "intakes" are truly right, since they're made out of aluminum. Plastic would be better, since it's a far better insulator (and would therefore keep the air cooler on its way into the intake manifold).

I think the K & N makes a bigger impact on the turbocharged cars. My Saab 93 seemed to have a bit more boost with the K & N, while on my Toyota MRS, I can not notice any difference at all.
