Just ordered my 04 TL yesterday - way to go acura-tl.com

I just ordered a SSM/Ebony/Auto/Navi yesterday from Montclair Acura in NJ and I can't wait. They said that they expect to have one for me by mid-March or end of March. I start counting the days now...

I told them that I usually get on the forums and they got some good reviews. They gave me what most have gotten who went to this dealer, $33,800 + tax, title and reg. (I was happy with this price since this is more than $1,300 off MSRP)

The sales guy said that they get calls from all over the US to try to locate a car with Navi and just a half hour before I went in, someone from Chicago called him, and before that, someone from Maryland, Virginia and Texas. Way to go acura-tl.com and forum members for sharing good info!!! I have to say thanks to everyone for helping with my decision!

I was at that same dealership yesterday too. I had a really good experience with them, once I walked in there they gave me an invitation to test drive the 6spd. Who was your salesperson? And did you try to bargin more off MSRP? And did you finance or lease? I am hoping to make a purchase in the next month, so any information would help. Thanks.

I told them that I had gone on this forum and gotten good reviews about their service and that people were saying they gave good prices. My sales guy is Doug Pitchell and he is as knowledgable about the car as I would expect a good salesman to be. (heck, I know more about the car than the sales guy I first went to in Springfield Acura) He was a former race car driver and he took me to a park a couple of miles away with some hairpin turns where he was telling me step on the gas taking the turns. As expected, the car stuck and never lost grip or composure.

When we returned, the initial guy I talked to (Craig) had already talked to the manager and to Doug and I just saw the offer sheet with 33,800 + tax/title written neatly on it. I didn't have to bargain at all. I was going to ask for $1,000 off MSRP thinking the 33,800 was a special price for those that went there earlier but they beat me to the punch.

I'm financing and I will know on Monday my VIN and the rate Honda Finance is willing to give me. (If I don't like it, I will look for another loan. AHFC has given some good rates lately though. I will go with them if they give me 4% or lower). I'm also trading in my 02 TL-S.

Good luck with your test drive and negotiations jlegend!
