Just bought a 2007 TL Type S NBP @ Naperville
Title says it all.
I just graduated from Iowa State University as a Computer Engineer w/ MBA and Econ minor. Thankfully got a job in my career market in Naperville, IL. Grew up in Batavia, Geneva, and St Charles so the area is very familiar after the 5 years.
Anyone live around here? Looking for some info on quick convenience mods.
P.S. I'm definitely loving the car although FWD is a change from my last car (LT1 Trans Am).

Nah i was looking for more luxury than sport. At least it has the paddle shifters on the wheel. Cant stand driving slow to work in traffic with a manual. It gets too tedious.
How you liking Iowa State? I lived in Welch Crowne on welch for 3 years (as well as coover for weeknights). As soon as i leave tuition goes to the floor. lol

To Clarify, the is for the FWD, not Trans Am!!!!
I'm trying to put a list together as well in order of feasibility for the car. Ive trolled around and seen some ways of doing the electronics but I'm thinking of just fabbing my own PC board to do it all at one with nice harnesses and factory plug ability (don't wana void my 100,000 everything warranty)
Get little warranty items out of the way for free
1. Rear passenger seatbelt torn a little deep in (amazing on a certified)
2. Nav screen has video noise or a noisy gnd
3. Subwoofer/Rear deck rattle
4. Drivers side butt heater broken
Then on to what costs $$$
0. Find a better place for Escort Passport 8500 mounting
1. New white nav disc (no torrents and crazy burning req)
2. Cut open front bumper vents
3. HID fog lights
4. Install Extra Subs in garage
5. New DRL bulbs rewired to highs
6. Replace all lights w/ LED
7. Reverse Cam Switch w/ Ext Vid In
8. Tint Windows
9. Remove Amber Corners
10.Cold air intake
11.Rear Sway Bar
12.License Plate Cover

@Steven Bell - I would love to. Looks like im waiting for 14 more days until im allowed to on here. I have 1 in my "garage" but that seems to be the new member limit.
@JTS97Z28 - I really like the KBP as well. Tough choice. I see a 2007 KBP Type S every day pretty much parked along side the rt59 meijer. I think the owner works there. But nice previous cars. RWD to FWD is strange. Im going to miss RWD in the snow

Hey, nice looking black TL! You are going to have to try a little harder to keep that baby clean! I used to be a big Pontiac fan as well. My old car was a 2002 Grand AM GT. I drove it for 165000 miles and got the most out of that reliable thing. I used to LOVE Trans Am's and supercharged Grand Prix's.
I love Iowa State. I chose this school over U of Iowa and Purdue. I started here in ME, but I ended up not liking it. I moved back home in IL but I realized that getting an engineering degree from Iowa State is the best choice for me. So I moved back here, took a year off to get residency and now I am finishing up my degree in IE. I live over in West Ames, which seems to be developing these days.

I am interested in:
2. Cut open front bumper vents
7. Reverse Cam Switch w/ Ext Vid In. Is there a tutorial on it yet?

@jungy4 - West Ames if definitely growing. Iowa isn't stunted by the economy as much as IL by far. Good choice on going back to Ames. I was going to be an ME too, but didn't like the whole John Deere focus there.
@1fsthatch - 187,000 on the Pontiac. 43,000 on the TL-S
@BigJack75 - Thanks! I think there is a tutorial, but you need to buy someones product. I don't want to do that since i think its just a simple ground loop isolation circuit with signal relays.

I work in the Naperville area. For tints, I highly recommend http://www.qualitywindowtints.com. This guys does tinting right and gets under the gasket in the small window in the rear door which most shops do not.
Congrats on the the cool ride. Looks just like mine.

Yeah, the small rear window is a big thing if you are new to tinting a TL. I had mine done the morning after I bought the car with no AZ research. I don't have mole skins either and have scratches on all four windows. They didn't put tint under the small rear windows. An easy fix, but don't care to have them fix it. Just research tint on this site for more info. Also ceramic vs metal is also a topic worth researching (because you have navi).

Nice car. I'm in Elmhurst, drive often on Ogden and Naper blvd. Tough times around here lately with all of the road resurface projects. Lot's of new asphalt going down and the @#$% oil on the road. Did you just move into a new townhouse? (hint- paint walls b4 decoration- lot easier later ;-))

Yep, moved in a couple of months ago. All settled in, but yeah, I hate the "America back to work, lets demo all roads" project. Keeps congestion high, gas mileage low, and people angry. All ready to be paved over yet again in another year.

And yes, i have trolled around here long enough to check out the moleskin and rear side window thing. Just have to work up the courage to spend the cash. More likely to do it just before summer when it gets hot.
