just bought a 05 TL

i just bought a 05 TL white, from an acura dealer..it is certified with a 7/100 warranty...just wanted to know what i can do to the exterior (bodykits, lighting, rims, etc) and performance (ecu, cold-air intake, exhaust, headers, etc) without voiding the warranty....

try search and browse around on the site for a bit.

Any performance mod will not necessarilly void the warranty, but if an issue with the car rises, the dealer could potential blame the problem on the aftermarket modification...many times with out just cause. Use search for some great ecu upgrade info in the performance and modifications section.

There is the a-spec body kit.

There are plenty of rims...ron jon? Please do not put neons under the car.

Actually, the Magnuson-Moss Act protects us to some extent. The warranty can't be voided by just modifying original equipment. The dealer has to prove that whatever mod you did caused the problem. Example: If you change your springs to aftermarket springs and 1 or more of your struts go bad, even though they're still original equipment, you had to have taken them off to install the new springs, therefore voiding the warranty. I know, that happened to me. It doesn't necessarily mean your whole warrranty is voided, but they won't work on that specific part.

Wish I bought my Acura TL used certified for the warranty at an Acura place instead of an Audi dealership.

i was thinking about adding new subwoofers to the car..i kno the stock sub is ok but i want a really kickass stereo....i read somewhere that changing the electricals will void the warranty if anything else goes wrong....not just the stereo....i'll probably put the rims on but definitely neons.....

try search and browse around on the site for a bit.

is there a reason why i shouldn't put neons on the car?im not flamin or anythin just curious....

the TL is a grown up car, not some stupid teenagers car like a civic (no offense) Essentially it shows that you are a grown up mature person who is professional, yet sporty and fun. TL = fusion of sport and luxury also expect to pay up for the mods to the car, they aren't dirt cheap like they are for civics.
