ipod integration; dimming outside mirriors; headlight beam pattern

Hey guys, I got some questions. First, how can I integrate my ipod into the audio system instead of plugging it in the aux jack, which makes the sound quality like crap. Second, I been driving at nite and the outside mirrior on the driver side reflect back so much light from the drivers behind me, is there anyway to filter out some of the lights? Finally, I've adjusted the headlight on the driver side upward a few inches, but I've notice the beam pattern on the road has some "black spots", like not lite, do u recommend me turning the driver's side down or turning the passenger side down to comprensate? Thanx.

I have the Peripheral PXAMG iPod adapter attached to my XM and I have no complaints whatsoever about sound quality. BUT, I don't have an aux jack to compare before and after.

You might want to consider the DICE Electronics unit if you are not using XM. It will support text from your iPod. It plugs into the back of the radio, so it is a direct link. Just hit the XM button to access your iPod.

If you are still using your XM, you can also use this unit but it will not support text. All you will have to do is hit the disc source button twice to access your iPod.

the sound sucks with the AUX? does it plug in to the ipod's headphone jack? if so then you may need to adjust the volume on the ipod either up or down.

the other systems are the Peripheral, Dice, or USA Spec which plugs in to the back of the radio and will allow a direct connection, including the charging of the ipod, and ability to control the songs with the radio and steering wheel controls. they require you to dismantle the car a little, but it should take no more than 30min or so to install. Do a search on these in order to find out the differences between them, there are a lot of threads that detail each as well as peoples experiences with them.

i cant help you with the lights, i would never mess with mine to begin with. i have no black spots but yes, the left does shine higher which it should. and is your side mirror set correctly? it should not reflect any portion of the side of your car. the only mirror that should reflect the cars behind you is your rear view mirror, the sides should only reflect the cars to your side but their headlights should not reflect that much.

no, my old FM transmitter SUCKED! this plugs directly into the back of your head unit to allow text thru your display and XM sound quality. I got mine on ebay at a good price and only took 20 mins. to install. I couldn't be happier with it. It also allows you to change songs using the steering wheel controls. I highly recommend it!

Your happy with the distance you can see?? I find it hard to see on the driver's side cuz of the step-effect, so that was why I adjusted it up a bit.

I believe DOT rules are that the step is in there to not blind oncoming cars. I read in countries that drive on the opposite side of the road the step is on the other side.

i never really thought about it which probably means i am happy. i live off of the main trail so if i ever need to see farther i just flash on the brights, but when i am on normal roads and highways i never have a problem. i can see your point though.

a few people have them and the way the projector acts is amazing. Razor sharp cut-off even 15+ feet away, a perfect blue hue cutoff line and also slightly improved brightness. Its a good mod to do if you have your headlights opened up. JnC on the boards does this for us.
